Jessie J - Do It Like A Dude

Hot song. It's so catchy. She's a song writer she's co-wrote "Party In The USA" and has written songs for Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Chris Brown.

Also you should hear her song "Price Tag" on Later Live with Jools Holland. She's fantastic.

It's quite good, too repetitive though.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 19-11-2010 12:10 PM

i read 'party in the USA' then stopped reading

Zippy 19-11-2010 12:39 PM

Essex girl!

They should get her in my new fave show...the only way is Essex.

Iceman 19-11-2010 11:16 PM

I love this??????? Why?

Shaun 19-11-2010 11:17 PM

saw this on Popjustice and probably contracted AIDs, it's that bad.
HOWEVER her spiky black lipstick is fierce.

Ross 20-11-2010 12:11 PM

do it like a brotha, do it like a dude, grab my crotch and wear my hat low like you

Jords 15-01-2011 12:59 AM

Its quite catchy, I think she'll be the weakest of the Critic winners so far though.

Stacey. 15-01-2011 01:02 AM

It's like the most annoying song out, yet I do actually like it D:

Surely she can't do worse than Ellie.

Jords 15-01-2011 01:05 AM

Ellie's done well ya tit.

She has done OK but has nothing on Adele and Florence.
Adele's & Florence's albums = best albums of 2008 & 2009.

Jords 15-01-2011 01:13 AM

Florence's album.
I never got Adele's 19, I might d/l it actually, planning on getting 21 when its out.

Hometown Glory, Cold Shoulder, Melt My Heart To Stone, Chasing Pavements, & Make You Feel My Love. Whats there not to get?

Jords 15-01-2011 01:55 AM

*facepalm*
Never got it, as in literally.

Cold Shoulder is great but the other singles were average so I never bothered d/l the album.

Twilight 15-01-2011 01:58 AM

This song is crap.

bettiepage 15-01-2011 02:03 AM

the song is rubbish, but she's an excellent singer. like seriously.

Z 15-01-2011 03:06 AM

I've never listened to her song, the opening lines just make me cringe and I have to turn it off.

Jessica. 15-01-2011 05:54 AM

I absolutely love this song :')

xDramatick 15-01-2011 09:41 AM

I think people need to bear in mind that this song is taking the piss out of all those musicians who think they're gangsta/ghetto & think they're the hardest out there.
It was originally written for Rihanna, and is no representation of her music at all!

This is her next single, her music's more this style.
Like a mature Pixie Lott sound.

Shaun 15-01-2011 09:57 AM

I've heard the "it's tongue in cheek" / "it's satirical of other singers trying to be hard" argument and to be honest I'd counter with the fact that, lyrically, this song boasts no real sense of irony. They're so crass to point that, if she says this is the case, she's acting so much like a wannabe-tough girl that she's actually become one herself. There's nothing clever about the song. Plus I doubt the record executives had this in mind when they signed her and decided this would be the first single. And starting a career on criticising others' work is just a shame, really.

However, this may all just be bad decisions on the record company's part. The fact she wrote Party in the USA, and the Jools Holland video proves there is some potential...I've just not seen it yet (don't care for the song 'Price Tag')

 That was magnificent.

I'm not a fan.

Ninastar 15-01-2011 11:01 AM
