Share your past injuries, and the stories behind them, here :)

Hey guys.

Forum is a bit dead atm -.- But yeah, I'll start:

Earlier this year I was brushing my teeth before I went to bed, and I turned around to walk out of my bathroom then BAM I was on the floor screaming in agony.

What had I done? Well, I'd managed to dislocate my left kneecap :/ It had moved about an inch and a half to the right. So my Dad was running around frantically whilst I was trying to breathe and forget about the pain. I actually had to scream call the ambulance cause he weren't listening lol.

So the paramedics turned up and gave me gas and air (which was fun lol) to stop the pain whilst they moved me onto the wheelchair thingy. They had to carry me down the stairs and outside. Whilst they were wheeling me to the ambulance we went over a bump in the pavement and my kneecap actually snapped back into place, and I felt no pain O_o

After that I we got to the hospital and the doctor checked my leg over and gave me some crutches and painkillers.

The worst thing was it all happened on my 15th birthday. What amazing luck I have. Oh and I was only in my pajamas - t-shirt and shorts - and my Birthday is on the 9th of February sooo you can imagine how cold I was going back to the car in after being told I could leave D:

Turkey about 5 years ago I was so drunk i came back was having a smoke on our balcony, fell asleep, woke up the next morning asleep on the gorund with glass everywhere, cut my back legs, arms and a chunk in my foot. The ashtray fell and broke and i slept on it!

Also about 4-5 months ago I fell asleep with a smoke in bed and it burnt into my hand......I was too drunk to even feel any pain or wake up...... was horrible.

When i was in year 6 we were doing skipping in PE and i tripped and fractured my arm lol. The very next day i was walking around at break time and i tripped and as my arm was fractured i couldnt cusion my fall and i ended up busting my lip open.

:joker: Awww I feel your pain lol

I actually prayed the day before I screwed up my leg for it to snow on my birthday. So the day after my birthday, I'm still getting used to my crutches and stuff, then I look out the window and its snowing. I was so pissed off lol.

The one from the cigarette left a blister for about a month and now there is a horrific scar on index finger.......:bawling:

Back when I was 6 or 7 I was in Austria, all excited at the thought of skiing for the first time. There I was going down a gentle blue slope which I thought was pretty impressive at the time, feeling pretty pleased with myself.. and then I crashed into a bunch of snowboarders, landed awkwardly and broke my leg. The worst part was there was no way of getting to a hospital so I had to be effectively carried down a slope, shoved onto a chairlift, get pulled of the chairlift, get put on the back of a snowmobile and get taken to hospital. Kind of ruined my first skiing trip

My other worst injury was probably 3 years ago, we were on a history trip to see WWI battlefields and trenches, and there was this one trench that went into a pitch black tunnel for part of it. Stupidly, me and a couple of others decided to run through it (why we did it I still dont know) and so I was sprinting through one second and then the next I was flat out on my back. Turns out there was a rock ledge hanging down which I smashed my head on and it must have knocked me out for a couple of seconds because I dont really remember hitting it or falling over. Anyway, I was initally surprised that it hadnt hurt that much so I stood up and calmly walked out of the tunnel and that was when I felt all the blood streaming down my face. Turned out I'd cut my head pretty badly and I had to go to hospital to get loads of stitches into it. Ended up missing one of the battlefields because of it, the Belgian hospital was very nice though

Oh you reminded me when i was in America I messed up my ankle when I was skiing, we all decided after a day to not listen to the instructors and went down this diamond trail.......halfway down i went over a bump and landed in a ditch smacking my knee of a tree....., couldnt ski down so had to just kind of hobble and fall over a lot!

Well a scar ain't too bad. My leg gets real stiff all the time now. I have to make it click to get it moving normally again. I think it's because the hospital was meant to give me a brace for it, and physiotherapy too. Oh well lol

 Yeah that's the problem with injuring yourself life that, if you cant ski down a mountain you dont have many options really lol. I've been lucky to have never hurt myself skiing since though

Yeah, I cant really remember much of it tbh, I just know that it hurt lol, and when I got to hospital the doctor didnt seem to understand that I didnt speak German so he was constantly poking me and rambling on when I had no clue what he was saying

It shocked me a little but I didnt realise how much there was until I looked in the mirror and it was literally covered in the stuff, I hate blood normally but when it's my own I'm ok with it which is weird. My teachers seemed a bit shocked when they caught sight of me walking towards them though :joker:

I don't think I've ever injured myself.. I broke my eye bone once when I fell out of bed, but didn't even know I had broken it until about a year later!

Did you not have to go to hospital?

And the worst that has happened to me so far is that I was shoved by a friend (she was only messing about) and I fell over a wall a broke my wrist.

about a year ago now i was patrolling the streets of liverpool.. when i heard a noise down the subway like someone was being raped i legged it down as fast as i could and after searching around i come across a poor innocent man being sexually harassed by the member on here who goes by the name of " Locke " the man soon got away thanks to me distracting Locke but that seem to make him more angry, he charged at me at full speed so i ran like the wind.. i tripped over one of the steps leading up out of the subway and broke my ankle.. I thought that was the end of me.. Locke was gaining on me second by second but then i saw a wooden plank by the side of me.. perhaps a weapon from the Gods that i could use against the evil beast in pursuit of me, Locke was right near me now and about to strike.. but before he could i twatted him over the head with the plank and crawled the nearest hospital which was about 10 minutes away from the subway.

Ive never really had a bad injury, never broke a bone neither. *touch wood* :)

Probably the worst thing was when i was like 3/4 i fell off the top of a bunk bed and smacked my head on the corner of my tv cabinet, I had to go to hospital and get it stiched up. I cant remember it happening because i was young but i can just imagine how painful it must have been ;o poor me. :(

Lol! Wonder why he was poking you?? Surely that wouldn't help when you're already in so much pain!

I'm kinda like that with my own blood/injuries too, when I looked down at my leg after I dislocated my kneecap, even though it was really far out of place, it didn't make me feel grossed out or anything.

I know I shouldn't laugh, but the images that put in my head was hilarious! :joker:

My Mum did almost the exact same thing when she was little! She used to share a room with her sister (she was around 3 or 4 and her sister was about 2) and they had two beds with a small gap in-between. Apparently they used to play game where they jumped from one bed to another. My mum missed the bed and smacked her head on the corner of a toy box. They had to take her to hospital to get stitches too! She still has the scar today.

I used to think that till this year. I'm pretty sure that before I screwed up my leg, I said "I've never broken or dislocated anything in my life!" lol. -.-

bettiepage 20-11-2010 11:13 AM

I once fell up the stairs.

I wurked it though. hehe.

30stone 20-11-2010 11:16 AM

I havent done much really..

I got burnt this summer so badly i had to have 2 weeks off work from blistering and everything, and it still haunts me now, every time i get like hot, you can see i go red around where i got burnt, its a good lesson id never not wear sun cream again.

I also have a b it of a reccuring knee problem from where i was like 12 - 14 doing free running my right knee just randomally hurts sometimes.

And the other ones i had, i have a indent in my leg where i done a backflip 360 on the trampoline right near the edge, and i staryed on, but my leg was the first thing to come down on the pole was my leg and my body on top.

And my friends were playing catch with half a brick, went towards my girlfriend i just put my leg in the way, felt like it half broke my leg still got a scar from it.

Ammi 20-11-2010 11:21 AM

I once slipped on the ice and broke my arm. I'd like to be more interesting and say it was skiing, snowboarding, skateboarding, mountainclimbing, absailing or some kind of extreme sport or I was running away from a vampire or something but no I slipped on the bloody ice - embarrassing
