No favoritism towards Cheryls acts?

Interesting statistic I just read on another forum...6 weeks out of 7 it has been one/more of Cheryls girls in the bottom. And only once has this resulted in one going, and this was only when the girls were against each other

The only week her girls escaped bottom two was week 2 :/

(Copied this from another thread, but I think it deserves a thread of its own :p)

Too add to this...none of Danniis acts have ever been given a second chance.

And none of Louis acts have ever closed the show. That privilege going to the girls on 5 shows out of 7 ;)

Niamh. 22-11-2010 12:05 PM

just replied to this post but I need to the same here. Yeah, and she's been so smug about having the most acts in etc. I wish Louis would do his job and point that out the next time she acts all smug about it!

Z 22-11-2010 12:06 PM

They want to present her as the best judge, presumably for 'credentials' when it comes to the US X Factor. She probably has a winner in Rebecca but I fully expect she will put all her efforts into Cher's performance this week, leave Katie to come up with another image change and will rely on Rebecca to come out and sing flawlessly again. She's pretty rubbish as a mentor IMO, she fixes her attention on one act (as does Louis) to the detriment of the rest.

I am conflicted about Rebecca, i love her and would love to see her win but the downside is cheryl will win again and i hate the smugness

Niamh. 22-11-2010 12:08 PM

Good point Greg, it seems like a very plausible reason. I know it's terrible to not want an act to win because of the judge but I couldn't bear it if Cheryl won again as much as I love Rebecca

Well I think Louis has had slapped wrists about discussing anything to do with Cheryl/her girls in a negative way. So I doubt this will happen.

I dont think they are setting it up to make Cheryl look good, it just so happens she has acts that sell the most papers so she is getting to keep all her acts.

Well, that beggers another question, why did she get that particular group? why not be fair and rotate the groups properly?

nanaimo 22-11-2010 12:12 PM

i would love to have seen what would have happened if she got the overs, would simon be raving about wagner then hmmm???

Vicky. 22-11-2010 12:13 PM

I think it's very suspicious that Cheryl's not been given the Overs or the Groups so far; they're clearly not that confident in her popularity that she could produce a winner from those categories. Next year, if it's the same judging panel, I'd like to see Dannii get the Groups, Cheryl get the Overs, Simon get the Girls and Louis get the Boys.

Niamh. 22-11-2010 12:19 PM

and why has she never mentored the groups? Surely this is where her expertise could be best served, after all she started out in a reality show as part of a group who went to be very succesful

Vicky. 22-11-2010 12:23 PM

She ALWAYS seems to be given the strongest category. Obviously this wasnt enough this year..so extra measures have been taken to ensure a win :S

yep, no one accounted for Matt:hugesmile: plus it would have looked too dodgy to give her the boys two years running

The final is pretty much Matt V Rebecca though...and they are doing a hatchet job on him in the press recently :/

You and niamhxo are absolutely right.

I know I go an about Cheryl but I have persoanal reasons to dislike her, however I believe in fairness and if one of her acts were in the bottom 2 for the fiorst time against anyone who had been there 3 or 4 times then I would say it wasnt fair had her act gone out.

Although I will hate it, and while I do believe that all this series has been about the preservation of Cheryls acts at all costs, I do think now Simon is determined to get a first group winner of the X Factor, I just hope Matt can get the votes to bring him through though.

Rebecca should make the final though too.

I actually think Simon is prepared to lose OD. I really do. It wont matter anyway, someone will sign them.

He seems to be putting less and less effort into them every week, and when they get through he seems a bit TOO happy, if that makes sense. I think his love for them is very exaggerated.

I agree, he hardly seems to comment on them at all.. always mentions who he thinks is good and then at the end adds something like 'oh yeah.. and the boys, of course'!

Z 22-11-2010 12:37 PM

Simon's looking at who can make him the most money, not which of his acts can win the competition.

fruit_cake 22-11-2010 12:39 PM

yeah one direction.. straight into simon's back pocket

Z 22-11-2010 12:52 PM

Nah, there's more money to be made out of Rebecca than One Direction - they're only popular while their current fanbase are still young teenagers; Rebecca's got a wider appeal.
