XF's Paije: "Katie Waissel Has Simon's Protection"

This weeks The X Factor reject Paije Richardson, has added to speculation that Simon Cowell is deliberately keeping unpopular contestant Katie Waissel in the contest, as she generates press for the show.

Paije who was booted off the XF this week after being defeated by Cher Lloyd, told X magazine: "Katie’s… got something round her. It’s called protection. She’s got someone on her side."

"He (Simon) likes her. She brings a lot of press and so maybe he’s keeping her for that – but she’s talented as well."

Waissel has controversially managed to keep her place in show despite being in the sing-off FOUR times, with the support of Simon, including last weeks controversial decision which saw Aiden Grimshaw leave the competition.

In reaction to Aiden getting axed, fellow contestant Matt Cardle also previously blasted SiCo for saving the great one Katie Waissel, claiming that she "gets the show attention."

This Paije is getting a bit to cheeky now :nono:

paije is a nice guy so for him to act like that means theres definetly something up behind the scenes.

Jords 23-11-2010 11:29 PM

She wernt bottom 2 this week.

Benjamin 23-11-2010 11:29 PM

Matt Cardle should try and make himself more interesting, then he wouldn't have to worry about Katie getting attention for the show :bored:

Well he's right, that's why Simon kept her - he said 'people will want to watch her', loose translation since she's bottom of the votes and not that many people do: she generates headlines.

Simon sees the (more) commercially-viable mainstream Amy Winehouse and yes its ridiculous how he praises this very mediocre glorified amateur with absolutely nothing special or interesting about her.

Let's not forget, Simon Cole has one act left. If he has the choice between voting out a good act or a weaker act, he'll send the better of the acts home to make the competition easier in the later stages for his boys. Fair? No. But obvious.

Either that, or he wants into her pants:rolleyes: Isn't her granny a porn star?:joker: Now there's a career path with a future and loads of dosh, and no caterwauling necessary.

I think that Simon hopes for a One Direction final with 2 of the girls,I don't think he's bothered which girls,he has seen Cher and Katie(the usual resident there 4 out of 7 weeks) in the bottom 2 and he likely feels with his group and 2 of the girls in the final the female vote won't be split that much and more votes will go to One Direction.

It is clear to a great many people, not all though, that he has voted to send better acts out than Katie and that he is being way over generous to her.
Never, even with his own acts have I ever in any series known Simon not to slate someone in the bottom 2 repeatedly and its unheard of for him to give 3 second chances to anyone let alone 4 second chances as he did when she was there again with Aiden.

So Paije is likely just telling it like it really is.

Who hasn't slagged the show off since they've left?
No doubt Paije will issue a denial in the next day or so... ho-hum.

This is also a good point...

Exactly. It's a win win for Simon. He knows she's never going to win because the GBP don't like her, but keeping her in generates a talking point every week and makes people tune back in. I just hope it backfires totally and Wagner goes on to win, it's become such a farce he may as well.

stewart64 24-11-2010 01:22 PM

Wagner generates headlines too and he wants him out. Not just Simon, I love her too.

Not doing too badly on this forum, latest poll shows her just behind Rebecca and Matt and the rest nowhere. I think her popularity is strengthening.

Let's keep the lovely Katie in this weekend.

Forums are strange though, they don't very often reflect what the general public are thinking because you get more cult followings on forums, like with Marcus during BB10.

Tom4784 24-11-2010 01:30 PM

I don't think Simon really cares about winning, he gets whoever wins anyway so I don't think he's voting out the strong people, more like the no hopers with the exception of Aiden. He is keeping her for headlines though.

Yes forums are vastly out of touch with reality in general :laugh

Going on the front page poll...one direction are least popular out of everyone, with no votes at all...how out of touch is that?!
