Will.i.am: I want a duet with X Factor's Cher Lloyd

Despite the teenager’s dramatic fall in popularity, the Black Eyed Peas singer says he wants to sign her regardless and do a duet with her.

‘I really liked that girl Cher,’ he declared.

After helping pick her for the live shows at Cole’s judges’ home, the rapper revealed: ‘I would sign her – tomorrow, today, yesterday. I wanted to sign her as I left the house.’

Brainstorming the music he’d produce for Lloyd, he told X Magazine: ‘I’d make edgy hip-hop with a bit of pop and electro thrown in. It would have to have lots of attitude but be melodic at the same time.

'Cher’s like a ball of energy and I don’t think she knows what to do with it. My fear is if she doesn’t hook up with the right creative people, she’s going to end up being too bubblegum,’ he said.

The 35-year-old singer revealed he was left in a fit of excited giggles after his first meeting with the 17-year-old. ‘When I first saw her, I started giggling, I couldn’t help myself,’ he said.

‘I was laughing because her talent is such a no-brainer. Cheryl was like, “What’s wrong?” and I was like, “I’m laughing because she’s so awesome!” I think she’s going to do something great.’

Cher could be in familiar company after will.i.am has done his best to boost Cole’s own US chances by dueting with her on 3 Words and Check It Out.

Along with..

Jay Z Wants To Sign X Factor's Cher Lloyd And Katie Waissel?
Does the rap mogul know what he's letting himself in for?

It looks as though X Factor Diva's Cher Lloyd and Katie Waissel are getting more attention than we thought.

Because according to the Daily Star, American rap mogul Jay-Z has shown interest in signing the hopefuls to his European record label, Takeover Roc Nation.

British rapper, Tinchy Stryder, who joint owns the label with Jay-Z, revealed that if Cher or Katie don't win the reality show fronted by Simon Cowell, then they would be very interested in signing them.

The UK MC said: "Cher is a real target for Jay-Z because she's proved she can sing really well, rap- and she's got great stage presence. After Cher there's an interest in Katie too.

"She's quirky and no-one can argue that she doesn't bring the headlines."

Well, that'll give Cher and Katie's ego a bit of a boost....

Anybody who knows anything about todays charts and contemporary music can see that Cher has great potential. She would fit right in to the current music scene and is actually quite versatile in what approach she could take with her album.

She can do the whole Lily allen or Eliza Doolittle thing but has also shown she can just about pull off ballads too. There's a lot of potential there with the right producers.

she hasn't declined in popularity. People who will buy her music are not necessarily people who would vote on XF or any other TV show. I never vote but I may still buy her music if were good enough.
