I'm walking the Great Wall of China.

In September 2011 I'm taking part of a walk of the Great wall of China, along with 24 others to raise money for Breast Cancer. I'm really excited for this, I know it will be an amazing experience!

Anyway, I'm doing it with my mother who will be celebrating her 50th birthday while we are walking the wall, and it's been a dream of hers to do it for years now, plus her friend is currently batteling breast cancer and she is organizing it, so it's nice for everybody to be doing it with her. Very exciting! Now I have to get fit and concentrate on fund raising £3000, but I'm really looking foward to it!

hardly any + the survival rate is very high

its about time other cancers got some exposure and funding but everything still revolves around breast cancer

It's not hardly any, if you take into account the amount of people cancer effects.

And other cancers are given exposure it's just Breast killer is still a massive killer

No I get all that i just mean whenever you see a charity event its ALWAYS for breast cancer. When was the last time you saw a charity run for, say, bowel cancer which is far more deadly?

Braden 26-11-2010 05:32 PM

Have a good time! :)

Well, our school is does a charity thing every year, and this year one of the recipients is bowel cancer :p But I see your point
I just didn't think it was fair to say "run for a man's charity"

Stacey. 26-11-2010 05:40 PM

That's cool, have a good time and hope you raise a lot of money for it :)

M X 26-11-2010 05:45 PM

Tom, the main reason we are doing it for breast cancer is because the woman, who is a friend of my mums, who is organizing it all has breast cancer. And it's fair enough to have your own opinion, but my mum has done fundraising for bowel cancer [like you mentioned] in the past, raising £9000 and also breast cancer in the past, raising £14,000, and lots of other charities, the charity which saved my life when I was born, not cancer related. It's not just breast cancer that gets help. It's just nice to do this for her friend.

M X 26-11-2010 05:46 PM

Thanks everyone :)
