Just an observation

Anyone else find this quite...odd?

-----

Death slots (start the show)
Overs - 3
Boys - 3
Groups -1
Girls - 1

Pimp slots (closing the show)
Girls - 6
Boys - 1
Groups - 1
Overs - 0

Sing offs
Girls saved - 6 (though one was girl v girl...the only time a girl has been sent home by the judges)
Overs saved - 1 (only when against another over)
Groups saved - 1 (only when against another group)
Boys saved - 0

Very odd indeed, there is a lot that is odd as to the X Factor this year but your statistics there are either a near impossibility to occur or very clear signs of bias at the very least.

Mystic Mock 30-11-2010 11:08 PM

with them statistics i dont get how the chavryl fans could say that simon isnt favouring her category.

Its not just cheryls category though, simons are a bit suspicious too...yeah his acts have only closed once, but they were on last quite a lot, and have mostly avoided the death slot.

Yeah more girls have been saved but from ^^^ its quite obvious Dannii and Louis are being utterly shafted

MTVN 30-11-2010 11:11 PM

Yes, they're definitely favouring the Girls and to an extent the Groups (although that should really be singluar) as well. I dont really wonder which act will perform last, I'm normally thinking which girl will go last.

The sing-off stats are a bit more understandable because the Groups bar OD, and the overs have been pretty poor this year

yeah but i think the reason why dannii and louis are being shafted is because of simons obcession with cheryl.

I think it's all reasonably fair and above board. After all, whether you like it or not, the Girls are the best category this year so of course it's only fitting. You could of course say that the Boys are the next best category, which they are, but I imagine the stats for the Groups will be largely down to One Direction - I don't recall Diva Fever ever closing the show. So again, that's understandable. The best acts will more often than not be saved till last for entertainment purposes. This isn't always the case in the interests of some fairness but for the most part it is. After all, they have to keep viewers interested.

What would be more interesting is stats like these for previous series. Then, perhaps, it would be easier to gauge levels of fairness.

of the 'pimp slots' - how many were taken by Rebecca?? I don't remember her being last

joeysteele 01-12-2010 10:09 AM

It stinks,I think Rebecca was near last when she sang Candle in the wind but thats the only time, the rest of the times its been Cher and Katie and for 3 weeks in a row One Direction were either 2nd last on or last.

Vixen(Vicky) is right, this is massive bias against Dannii's and Louis acts. Rediculously unfair,it surely can be easy enough to do a rotation of first to last on week by week.

I think (only think, I don't know for sure), that Louis had a bad category this year and was largely seen as irrelevant by the production team, but the main thing that has had to be done this year, after the chaos of Gamu carry on,plus the criticism of all Cheryls choices, was to ensure that Cheryl's face was saved and that her acts in particular were wrapped in near cotton wool, always to be praised and saved at whatever cost.

The girls were the strongest category but originally 2 of them weren't selected to go through, she chose 2 of the weaker ones to do so,Katie in particular who must not only hold the record in all X Factor series for being in the last 2 or 3 the most times but also maybe for polling the lowest number of votes overall for all her weeks in the competition.

Benjamin 01-12-2010 10:19 AM

Well usually, compared to other year, they mix up the categories positions a lot more, but this year it has leaned towards Simon and Cheryl. You cannot argue with those statistics. It should be week, by week, so every 4 weeks, roughly, one of the judges acts closes the show, whilst another starts the show. Goes to show X factor is going down the toilet faster than Gillian McKeiths poo....

Can you explain death and pimp slots for the umb asses out here :D

Oh I'm such a loser. I didn't read properly! Sorry :D

Maybe thats cos I'm at work and shouldn't be on here, but I still will! Ha

Marc 01-12-2010 10:50 AM

Now I understand, it does seem as if the Overs are disadvantaged!

It almost seems Cheryl and Simon are running the show

Doubt that! She probably loves to look at it and poke at it. Probably scoops it out of the bowl and puts her little fingers in it!

Agree. This year is so controlled - the public have had very little say too till this weekend - when Simon has who he wants in the semi-final........

no more cheryl acts closing the show:nono: actually let mary have it as no overs have had a last on slot yet and considering shes the last over standing and has had to put up with alot of early slots i think it should be her chance to shine.
