Britons Are Nothing More Than A Bunch Of Wimps, Re: Snow

Jesus! You guys act like this is the worst thing to happen since WWII! Suck it up, and get on with it! :nono:

Maybe if you'd bothered to differentiate that and say "English" this could be a credible thread. Sky News will put it on 24/7 anytime a snowflake falls near London............and meanwhile in other news, Scotland still under Xcm with ice and roads closed.

English are not used to it, Scotland is

Oh get off your high horse.........

In some parts of Scotland we have been snowed in for about 3 days now, when we start running out of basic essentials I would say we had a right to moan a little if we feel like it :bored:

I used to get it bad - snowed-in in an all electric place and the electric off for days! Lucky next door had a real coal fire or we'd have died. But it's funny how you get bored playing scrabble by candlelight with the neighbours especially after 3 days and all the booze has run-oot!

correction southerners arent used to it here in the derbyshire hills we have been pretty much cut off and schools closed for 3 days as is usual every winter.
dont tar us all with the same brush.

The only thing that bugs me is the boring old predictable moaning about the roads not being gritted and ploughed enough the hollow arguments of
"what do i pay my council tax for"
and
"other countrys like sweden do a lot better job than us"

Yes they do a lot better job than us because some of these countrys are snowbound for 8 months a year so they have to spend billions of pounds a year more than us on state of the art snow clearing equipment just to keep the countrys economy running smoothly nobody here is willing to pay the extra in taxes it would cost to have the same road clearing abilities just for the sake of a few lost days of work/schooling a year.

Ah sorry - I have Vermin Media TV so it's too much effort to bother searching other channels on Net TV - not a news addict like your bad self!

TV for channels - net for other stuff!

Basically I watch news, history documentaries and my American Football which is on 4 days per week live. I was hacked-off when Sir Tricky introduced Nagra3 as had a Eurovox so the TV came free with the broadband and a splitter cable back then - you'll know what I mean without being to explicit of pre Nagra3 on cable

Not just the scottish that dont complain we havent had too much snow i can still just drive but last year i happily walked 80 minutes to work in 7/8 inches of snow work for 8 hours then come home and done the same for 2 more days, its enjoyable.

Niamh. 02-12-2010 09:55 AM

I wouldn't know we have NO SNOW :(

Tom 02-12-2010 01:54 PM

I think its funny when people whinge and then the news latch on and every time it snows we get the old "why are we not prepared this time?" news reports only days after we're treated to news reports about how the grit plants are all stocked up and we're fully prepared

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 02-12-2010 01:56 PM

my wanking hand was so cold last night it was unreal

quite nice though
