What drink you?

I know this has been done a million times before but it's one of those topics that bears repeating every now and then.

So ... like ... what is it that takes you to a happy place?

For me :

Vodka + Red Bull [Cliche but essential to start the night].

Blue After Shock [Delicious club shot fodder].

Guiness [The pub choice. Smooth enough to drink through like a fish, and it's got iron and shit].

Polish canned lager [The strongest, bestestest lager we get lots of in shops because of all the Poles over here. Good for house parties].

Over to you.

Guinness - Almost always drink when I'm in the pub. Usually a bit more expensive than the rest but worth it.

Real Ales - Love trying all the random real ales, especially local ones. Love all the weird names they have too.

Vodka and coke - Will have a few before a night out or have some when chilling watching a film or something.

Cider - It's everywhere, there is loads. But mostly it is cold and refreshing Goes great with curry!

Usually just drink Fosters when I'm out, but also like

Vodka + Redbull.

Had Jagermonster for the first time last night and that was decent, think I'll drink that more often now.

And I went through a phase of Absinthe, but last time I had it it completely ****ed me the next day so I haven't had it since.

Vodka & Strawberry Water.

Southern Comfort = my poison. Can drink it with anything*
Also am quite fond of gin & tonic for some reason...I blame that on inheriting it from my mother.
Of course, vodka + mixer = a staple.
Lately I've started buying pints when out a lot more often...probably because it's cheaper.
edit: preferred options are Carlsberg, Fosters + Stella. Can't stand Becks...

But basically I'll drink anything as long as it's not whiskey. I just can't...and Jack Daniels is a weird one for me: some days it'll make me wretch, others I can gladly knock it back.

*drinkable

Southern Comfort is whiskey...

Shaun 04-12-2010 09:30 PM

pfffft. it's girls' whiskey. Basically whiskey without the paint-stripper aftertaste.

sexyb4ck 04-12-2010 09:31 PM

Tesco bleach

Boothy 04-12-2010 09:32 PM

Lagavulin or Laphroaig - Nice strong Scotches. Good when watching the TV or playing pool at a mates or something.

Whiskey - Jack Daniels is always a winner.

Stella - My lager of choice.

Fosters - Decent lager, better for a weaker option. Good for house parties as almost everyone likes Fosters.

Kronenbourg and Carling are lagers worth mentioning while we're here. Can't be doing with Carlsberg though, tastes like piss. Hate it when I ask someone to get me Carling and they confuse it with Carlsberg.

Ale - As Joe said, cannot beat local ales. Bathams and Abbots are my favourite from the ones I've tried.

Kopperberg is what I have when I run out of money, its vile when you're sober :joker:

Clubs only seem to do the pink one though

MTVN 04-12-2010 09:36 PM

Magners is my favourite cider, I'm not too picky when it comes to Lager, normally Carling though

Jagerbombs are always a good way to start the night. I actually quite like drinking stuff like WKD as well

LemonJam 04-12-2010 09:37 PM

Double Southern Comfort and Lemonade
Sambuca
Blackthorn

They're my favourites, but I drink almost anything as long as it's not classy.

Kopperberg is the most disgusting thing ever

InOne 04-12-2010 10:05 PM

They always put far too much ice in glass and you can barely taste it.

Judas 04-12-2010 10:11 PM

Of late my pattern is on a night out -

Pre-drinks (One of or a Combination of, I'll normally switch between a few during the week)
Tesco Value Pear Cider because I can't afford a branded pair cider
Strongbow
Fosters
Cheapest bottle of red wine
Homemade cocktails
Vodka and Limeade (Can't test the vodka)

Pubs
Pear Cider
Fosters/Amstel
Strongbow

Club
Vodka Red-Bull (Or relentless etc depending on club) - usually on offer
Limeade (and smuggled in vodka added in the toilets)
Whatever is on offer that night - Eve (LOL), VK or other piss-pops, Strongbow are the normal choices.

Iceman 04-12-2010 10:30 PM

At home: I usually get a box of budweiser fr the weekend, its so cheap and its my favourite at the moment, I used to hate it. I also have a vast range of drinks on my shelf, absinthe, sambuca, jager or ozou??? will usually twst whoevers drinking with me to have one...

At the pub: I'll only drink snakebite or vodka and red bull.

At a club: I'll drink anything.

\PJ/ 04-12-2010 10:32 PM
