Umm, I don't see why you are so annoyed about it. I actually think it's really great that Lady Gaga has been able to help him and give him confidence.

Shaun 01-01-2011 05:10 AM

yeah 'cos she totally did that inbetween wearing meat dresses and recording songs.

It happens with every mainstream popstar - emotionally unstable fanatics idolise them because they have delusion complexes and invest so much time in supporting their idol that they fool themselves into thinking they now have something to live for. The only thing GaGa is directly benefitting from these sorts of people? Sales. She can pretend to be an inspirational figure and an icon and a role model and a supportive figure, but the cold reality is she's not going to stop homophobia, she's not going to help every fan through every minor homophobic comment, or abusive bigots in the streets. She's profiteering off of people's insecurities, and whilst it's not directly a bad thing (because she's tolerant (and since WHEN was THAT a good thing in itself? It SHOULD be the norm, not a celebrated aspect)), it's shameful and it's giving credit where credit is not due. She has done nothing to save that man's life. If he was in such a ****ing dark place, 'Alejandro' wouldn't be the thing to save him from it.

Noel made a comment about it, like when people come up and go "Ohhhh Definitely Maybe changed my life!" He's like "Eh, you were like 3 when it came out"

I completely agree, she's a decent popstar nothing more. People make her out to be the second coming.

I hate it when some of these people idolise Madonna too. She's had some good songs and tunes (with a lot of help), but couldn't hold a note to save her life. Credit to her for creating a very successful career out of it but I still think it's appalling. And her ego, don't get me started. lol
I'm all for older people dressing however they want, but she's disgusting.
Same goes for Gaga's dress sense even though she's much younger.

'Conor 07-01-2011 10:59 PM

i hate people like that:devil:

Benjamin 07-01-2011 11:00 PM

She helped him overcome the homophobia? How? Because she sings and wears weird clothes? Pfffft. :bored:

You obviously havn't heard any of her Evita/Ray Of Light era then. She hit her hightest notes in that era. Same for her late 80's work (True Blue , Like A Prayer) and her vocal live. Madonna has been round for such a long time that she can do what ever she wants now. A true icon now beating age and sex discrimination.

I'm going to play devils advocate for a second and say bands can save lives. Good bands. Mind you.

I was in a pretty rotten place when I found DM a few years ago and whilst they didn't 'save my life', letting myself fall into the huge backcatalogue of music gave me a whole new pastime I could indulge in. It was and is a very healthy obsession. And going to see that band live twice was mindblowing, standing in the middle of a football stadium surrounded by 66,000 people who all share the exact same passion as you.

Of course that's a story with a bit of substance, and without a pandering, self righteous element. Having your life saved by a single woman with one album to her name and a cult of image more than anything is a completely different saga. She/he saved herself/himself. GaGa was merely the proxy. The Jesus Christ figure she used to channel through.

The 'like a sister' comment says it all. Please.

Because people who refer to themselves as 'Little Monsters' and stuff like that are ******ing pathetic.

She's an artist, She's amazing, I love her and that but some people need to calm down and stop treating her like she's God.

Actually it'd be kind of awesome if she was God, she's more entertaining than this 'Father God' fella that's meant to exist.

Anyway, She didn't 'save' that persons life.

Unless she went to their house and shot the bullies or scared them away with abit of meat, she didn't do anything.

This, Or he's just that desperate for a 'tweet back' of her he's trying to make her feel as if she's a life saver.

She was the one who originally called her fans Little Monsters and she could have inspired that person :bored:

Dont see the big deal, they may be being a bit melodramatic but who cares. If she did genuinely inspire them as much as they claim then good for them. And if she didnt then so what, it's only one comment out of the thousands left on that site

If you want to think that, fair enough. I disagree totally.
