Do you like a gif reply?

To your posts?

Vicky. 09-01-2011 02:40 AM

Depends, some are relevant to what you say. Most arent.

The relevant ones I can deal with, the rest piss me off :laugh2:

Kerry 09-01-2011 02:42 AM

*awaits 60 gif posts in thread*

Stacey. 09-01-2011 02:45 AM

Can see how this thread's gonna turn out

But yeah I do actually, it's quite funny

Patrick 09-01-2011 03:04 AM

Yes.

It seems to be myself, Scott, Jordan and Stacey who can have abit of fun with them without crying over them

The X Factor ones were boss, The Face Palm ones from ages ago were epic too I remember like Vicky had a thread and everyone spammed it with facepalm GIFs, I think it was Vicky's thread, either way the thread was closed with a facepalm

Scott's GIFs make me LOL alot sometimes because of how relevant they actually are, the way the random people look and the faces they pull, just fit in with everything :joker:

Like the one the other night, with the police woman GIF rofl!

But yeah they're cool, But I mean if I took the time to write a massive post out or a rant or a post I've put alot of time into and then some wanker replies with a Bart Simpson GIF, I would smack them.

I'm expecting Scott or someone now to quote me with a GIF. :p

Kerry 09-01-2011 03:06 AM

One or two are fine. A thread full of them is pathetic. Not that anyone cares but it's why I've stopped posting in most chat threads. I'm not the only one either

Shaun 09-01-2011 03:11 AM

I don't mind them unless they're repetitive.

Kerry 09-01-2011 03:17 AM

No one care for people on dial up or a netbook?

I'm not but have used my netbook before and just gave up on this place due to gifs

Kerry 09-01-2011 03:18 AM

No.

Why should we suffer just because they can't use proper computers or laptops like the rest of us?
Their own fault x

Kerry 09-01-2011 03:38 AM

They can, It's just if they're going to ******ing cry about GIFs whilst doing it then they shouldn't bother.

People say it all the time, I'm obviously not comparing going without seeing one of Scott's Asian Girls dancing, to being in Africa with no food.

What else would of been a better word that suffering?

'Doesn't mean the rest of us have to ______' ??

Gifs.
  • They slow page loading on the forum down and make the forum less usable for someone with a slow connection.
  • They are annoying and repetitive.
  • They are also quite sneery and flippant. As if the person thinks that someone doesn't deserve a proper reply.

:nono: They are a way for people to express themselves rather than using words, what do you expect with the lack of decent smileys.

Yeah same with me, if they're relevant to what's being said then they're ok and can be quite funny at times.

Jordan. 09-01-2011 10:41 AM

GIFS

Agree with both of these replies.

In most instances, the gifs used are offered as a non verbal reply - and the majority are oozing with sarcasm. Sneering is indeed a perfect way to describe most of them -and as Vicky stated, often they are repetitive and incredibly boring - adding nothing to the forum.

I'd say from what I've seen on Tibbs so far, they seem to be favoured by the 'younger members' - perhaps there's 'something in that' !!

Why don't they just turn their Images off then?

Some are annoying and repetitive, most aren't.
The ones that are annoying and repetitive are Facepalm GIFs poorly because F/ is so old now and TinyPic doesn't make anymore GIFs on Facepalm, But if they did, they'd be the best facepalms around.

I kind of agree with the last point actually, Sometimes it's good though I mean some GIFs show something like people clapping or someone laughing and that can be good if someone replies to you with that, it kind of means they like what you're saying.

:sleep::sleep:

Like what exactly?
Yes Young Members like to use GIFs more, no harm in that.

People always go out of their way to find a way to put the blame on younger people whether it be to do with drinking, drugs, fighting and now this, GIFs.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

A picture paints a thousand words :nono:

The only ones that annoy me are when people use them to disregard something that's been said
