'Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim' details revealed

The first details for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim have been revealed.

The role-playing game will be set 200 years after the events of Oblivion, when dragons have returned to the world and a civil war has broken out, according to Game Informer (via NeoGAF).

Specific classes are dropped in favour of an overall level, with customise stats and unlockable Fallout 3-style perks with each level gained.

Although the number of skills has been reduced from 21 in Oblivion to 18, players can still specialise in specific professions or create characters with balanced traits.

Emphasis has been placed on improving the game's combat, with each hand given a specific function, whether it be magic, sword and a shield or duel-wielding two separate melee weapons.

Enemies include trolls, giants, dragons, wolves and giant spiders, and will be scaled according to both your level and certain random elements.

The game's world, which is north of the Imperial City, will feature five main urban areas and promises more unique dungeons to explore.

Other additions include randomly-generated quests, sprinting, a HUD-free first person view and dynamically-settling snow.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be available on November 11 for multiple platforms.
I don't know WHY they've bothered to bring back the scaling system, nobody liked it.

Like the idea of a Civil War having broken out, and the perks is a good idea I suppose as is improving combat and having more unique dungeons

Not sure that I like the idea of having one overall level though, and yeah I'm not a fan of the scaling system at all

I'm not that excited for this at all really, it's too early to write off completely but I've been put off by some of the features. Hopefully it all works better in practice then it does on paper.

It may have better mechianics but so had Oblivion over it's predecesor.

Less skills, less levels, less major cities, no class choice.

I'm massively dissapointed. Seems they have taken all the fan feedback and went the other way.
