Activia, Actimel (etc etc)

Do you believe they do you some good? They get shoved in our faces on adverts day in day out, but did we die out before these 'yoghurts' came about?

GypsyGoth 11-01-2011 11:52 PM

I think it is a con, they had to take the claims off the ads saying that they helped you.

Stu 11-01-2011 11:53 PM

Complete muck. Your body becomes reliant on them so that when you stop using them your immune system is useless.

Everything you need to be healthy is in stuff like milk, water and fresh fruit and veg. All of this designer rubbish and the people who prance about on it annoy me.

Pisses me right off. Bloody scare tactics to make you buy overpriced yoghurts

Kerry 11-01-2011 11:57 PM

Mind you, I suppose it pays a few past it/can't get any other work TV (so called) stars a couple of quid

Zippy 12-01-2011 12:06 AM

eww

Ive just eaten a sainsburys trifle

Lee. 12-01-2011 12:07 AM

I used to drink one a day until I saw a programme proving that their claims were just a lot of bollocks!

Mind you, I still think they help if you are bothered with heartburn/indigestion

InOne 12-01-2011 09:20 AM

I sometimes drink them cos they're quite nice, not for any health reasons lol

Shaun 12-01-2011 09:22 AM

I love the Activia yoghurts...the drinks are nice but pointless, really. Just make a smoothie.

Niamh. 12-01-2011 09:23 AM

yeah same Joe, I didn't find that I felt any better though afterwards

Vicky. 12-01-2011 11:21 AM

I went through a phase of drinking these. Moreso because they taste nice than anything else

I did feel more 'alive'...though that was probably psychological rather than actual health benefits :p

Beastie 12-01-2011 01:44 PM

I heard there is a lot of sugar and sh!t in them.. lol

I don't think they are good to have everyday.

Beastie 12-01-2011 01:46 PM

Fruit smoothies are not always particularly healthy. They are more healthy if you make once yourself from scratch. I heard if you drink a smoothie everyday you meant to put on a bit of weight at the end of the year.

I used to love my Nans banana milkshakes. Just straight milk and banana blended. I keep meaning to buy a blender simply for that reason and make them myself

My brother once went through a phase of making strawberry smoothies. I loved that time

I could live on strawberries.

Stacey. 12-01-2011 07:00 PM

Haha I used to go down to the fruit shop as a kid and buy peapods instead of sweets!

I did that, my mates thought I was weird for it

Kerry 12-01-2011 07:03 PM

I want strawberries now. I only have strawberry laces :joker:

Vicky. 12-01-2011 07:07 PM

I know...contemplating going to the shop

Vicky. 12-01-2011 07:08 PM

Actually they probably wont have any anyways. Or if they do they will be really old and nearly mouldy :bored:

Kerry 12-01-2011 07:10 PM

They'd be really expensive too as they'd be imported at this time of year

Smithy 12-01-2011 07:10 PM

We used to have Benecol (I think) those little drink pot things, idk if they ever did me any good, but they sure tasted nice
