I hope HMV do not Follow Woolworths : New Update Music Giants back HMV
As they are our only National CD/DVD/LP/12" store
http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Bus...nsurance_Terms Jeff Randall on SkyNews (Jeff Randal Busines Hour) had a report about HMV bringing in people to go over there books. As it stands they confirmed 60 UK stores will close. But some HMV stores have Download areas and they are still trying hard to fit all people needs. Now LPs are level with CD's in some stores. They also now stock Band Clothing and own a Nightclub. I hope they are not going the same way as woolworths did. |
HMV
I seriously hope our store doesn't close. |

If its the only one in a big area it may not. But some places have 2. |
I miss Woolworths :(
|
if HMV dies, I die.
|
Woolworths going was horrible, HMV's even better, it can't die :'(

They have some Debts Some Stores are making Profits. But these people going over the books are outsiders - This will not help backers of HMV. I buy alot from HMV Japan who stand alone as they are no longer part of any HMV group. |

60 stores are to be closed then they may do better The 60 that go are the ones that are not bringing in enough cash. http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Bus...nsurance_Terms |
It's very much on the cards unfortunately. They can't really compete with internet sites like Play.com - I can see them doing a Woollies and ending up closing their high street stores and trading only on the internet.
I really hope I'm wrong - I would really miss it on the high street - and I really feel sorry for those shop staff whose jobs are under threat. |

At this Time only 60 will close. Play.com are having trouble. Amazon is the King here. "Its main competition comes from internet companies like Amazon and supermarket chains who have expanded into CD, DVD and gaming sales." From the SkyNews Link I just posted. |
Tbh I don't pay for my music anymore since I discovered torrents but HMV was the place I was planning to buy my copy of Born This Way from.
I don't wanna see them go, they've always been around since I was little. |
I will have you know Asda sell DVD's, Blu-Rays, CD's, + games :nono:
Would be crap if HMV went out of business was, even thought Music Zone and Virgin were better. |

We had a Zavvi HMV and Woolworth almost next to each other year.. First Woolworths went and then Zavvi now HMV.. it will probably be game next as well
|
They have chances
Every one from the Cleaner to the Top can take another Pay Cut and stay in work And Prices can come down on more items then they can beat Supermarkets and Amazon. |

Game may have to shut some stores. And HMV is still Alive Do not Bury it Visit HMV |

Damn :/ Better not or there will be no DVD shop in my town :bored:
|
There isn't much difference between Morrison Asda and Tesco's in prices, just depends what they have an offer and what deals they have going
|
Asda have got 10% off when you spend so much... it is cheaper than everywhere else according to the woman on the intercom :nono:
|
HMV wont go by me as Powerplay shutted down a month ago.

Yes there will be but not on that Oxford Street Scale. Thats if that happens. Outsiders going over your books is a Massive Danger. |
