Simon Cowell wants Rihanna to be a judge on the US version of The X Factor, reports reveal.

Apparently the pop mogul is keen to sign the What's My Name? singer to join the panel, when the show launches later this year.

"To get her on the show would give it real star power," a source explained to Look magazine.

"Nicole Scherzinger and Cheryl Cole are also being considered for places on the judging panel, because they’ve got a proven track record of being great judges, but that doesn’t rule Rihanna out.

"She has a massive appeal and a real edge to her. Simon knows she wouldn’t be afraid to give her opinion."

Insiders say RiRi and Cowell have already discussed the possibility of her becoming a judge recently. It's rumored he's also offered her a role as either a guest judge or as a mentor if she's too busy for a permanent position.

If she was Id definitely watch, dont normally bother with US versions of our shows (watched their last years BB mind).

I doubt she'd do it tbh. She doesn't need it for popularity, she's about the most popular female singer out there right now. Though I'm quite sure an American audience would much rather see her and Nicole do it rather Cheryl

With Justin Bieber on the Panel, Simon and Cheryl ditching us and now getting this ******ing bint with the voice of a man, to join in?

God.

I have said it for years and I will say it again, I think Beyonce would do it.

Beyonce would be a very dull judge.

She won't do it, she's at the peak of her career now, she's going to want to concentrate on getting more singles out there, XF will just be a distraction.

She has openly said that she wants to mentor upcoming acts and Simon would be stupid not to offer her the role.

At this rate there is going to be about 10 judges.
