Jedward to Represent Ireland in Eurovision?

Quote:

Jedward have confirmed the title of their new single, which will also be one of the choices for Ireland's entry for 2011's Eurovision Song Contest.

The song is titled 'Lipstick' and will receive its premiere on RTÉ's The Late Late Show on February 11.

A new promotional poster has been unveiled which shows the twins in red PVC suits, covered in red lipstick marks. The track has been penned by JLS' songwriting team of Dan Priddy, Lars Gensen and Martin Larsson.

Jedward told The Herald: "Do you like this cool new picture of us? Well here's a hint. The name of the track is linked to it.

"Guys, we are so excited about this. We are going to really need your support as it all comes down to a public vote. We can show them what amazing fans we have."

The former X Factor contestants will compete against four other acts to win a place in the competition in Dusseldorf.

Luckily for Ireland I think you have to vote for them to do it so it's not a certainty :D

Eurovision is shockingly bad/pointless anyway, they will fit right in.

red 28-01-2011 01:15 AM

oh god ,, and I thought it couldn't get worse than dustin the turkey but Ireland manages to outdo themselves...

I've only just noticed you're with Cher Lloyd instead of in Jedwardland now Miss Stace!

Somebody wake JF up so we can rip into him too

Beastie 28-01-2011 01:29 AM

If Katie Price did it.. then anyone can!

Beastie 28-01-2011 01:30 AM

Remember Daz Sampson was it? lol Legend!

Claymores 28-01-2011 01:34 AM

I find it funny that it's in Ddorf - they're absolutely crackers for Eurovision in that city - after an American Football game with the Claymores, they had 100,000 just watching it on a big screen transmission from wherever in a park - the Scottish could not convince our German chums to leave it and go to the pub. Jedward's biggest live audience ever I'll be guessing.

Not watched it for years, but when we did, that was the only reason too... Terry Wogan's caustic & catty but hilarious commentary and one liners were brilliant! :laugh2:

Dustin is a national treasure! I won't have a bad word said about him!:nono:

Zippy 28-01-2011 07:26 PM

Well if you can be represented by a turkey....

I'm not remotely surprised by this news.

Jessica. 28-01-2011 07:36 PM

That doesn't mean it is gonna be the Eurovision song, it means it's gonna be considered with all of the other songs submitted.

Shaun 28-01-2011 07:37 PM

Quite a good idea really...they're reasonably popular, and the credibility of the contest died about 20 years ago, so why not go for the cheesiest and most well-known crap available?

-he says, having loved Scooch-

Iceman 28-01-2011 07:44 PM

they have to get past the vote for Ireland part first..... I'm willing to spend a tenner voting against them.....

joeysteele 28-01-2011 09:44 PM

I hope they do represent Ireland, they will be really great at Eurovision with their looks, personality, singing and enthusiasm, also they could likely win it too.

They would be a good choice for it and good luck to them, maybe Ireland will be back on track in Eurovision with them, Ireland have after all won the contest more times than any other country.
