Be prepared - the changes could be drastic

I wouldn't expect BB to come back just like how it was. I believe there could potentially be a major revamp that makes it more like the American version. Just know that it might not be the same BB as we knew it...

Either way, I wouldn't mind them majorly revamping the format. But I would prefer it to be close to the original, but with some needed tweaks here and there.

If it comes back on another channel I'm kinda dreading it :(

I'll give it a go but lets face it, never the same.....

I share your worrys 100% kerry but it has to change in some way to even stand a chance but the other thing is it will still be made by the same people (endemol) and they can draw on years of experience from big brother all over the world and they will know what is best. The uk version of bb isnt the first to go down the crapper and get cancelled only to be ressurected and they have made it work before.

C4 were treading on endemols toes and dictating to them what they could and couldnt do far too much (not really the fault of C4 blame the people who complained to ofcom at every oppurtunity)

But what im getting at is with a fresh start on a new channel and with endemol in creative control they could make this massive for C5 and i wouldnt be suprised if this is what the hold up in negotiations is about not so much the price but the wrangling over how much production control endemol want.

Im optimistic but im not getting excited until i hear it for real if it happens it will be under endemols terms and that will be a good thing.

Why on earth would Desmond make it like the cheesy soap opera American version?

I see what you mean in a way though as we could have some horrible changes but by that I mean it'll become more trashy abut like The Only Way Is Essex and Jersey Shore.

It needs a major revamp since clearly the old format was what killed it off. For starters we need 24 hour live feed and we need impartial producers who allow the HMs to interact without manipulation and favouritism. What we don't need are contrived "storylines" shoved down our throats - it's supposed to be reality TV and it should be that, warts and all.

It needs to get back to basics, interesting and quirky characters, not your bog standard page 3 wannabes and jack the lad cheeky chappies, and a wider range of ages and backgrounds to be more representative of its viewers. I'm fed up of watching the plethora of vacuous, shallow, thick idiots that have recently been offered up, only interested in the mag deals afterwards - why on earth would the producers think they were remotely interesting? It doesn't take an Einstein to work out why BB was no longer working.

True Pat
Desmond in No Yank Game Format lover

I think it will go Hard Core
harder than ITV's jungle

And Sexy Women being put into hard tests
nice to see them Break Down in Tears.
A Good Emotion.

Feel The Force

Remember, Endemol are the ones with the creative control. Desmond can pressure them into certain decisions and express his concerns but the rest is up to Remarkable.

Its never going to live up to the channel 4 show but hey at least we can watch it better than no BB.

This... it certainly can't be worse than the mockery that was BB8.

I'm sure Desmond would want a certain type of Housemate who can command front page stories in his newspapers and Magazines.

flamingGalah! 01-02-2011 02:10 PM

I would love it to go back to basics. Just random people selected, not just wannabes & have them interacting amongst themselves in the house. Get rid of all the silly tasks & needing tokens for hot water etc.. Just a bunch of strangers sharing a house where we can watch them 24/7... :D

AJ. 01-02-2011 03:01 PM

The annoying thing is it would be soo easy to fix & I can just see them making it even worse :(

Hopefully they will listen to what we want & not just feed us manufactured rubbish.

Ramsay 01-02-2011 03:14 PM

Its definatly gonna be soooo different

Niall 01-02-2011 04:52 PM

I hope the changes are drastic. I wouldn't expect anything else from C5.

InOne 01-02-2011 05:02 PM

As long as they don't pussy around with the booze I don't care what changes are made.

Jayson 01-02-2011 05:15 PM

All I really want from it is something that can entertain me for an hour every night.

rosebay11 01-02-2011 06:17 PM

I wonder what kind of show we would get if, somehow, it could be arranged that there would be no mag deals at the end.

Brekkie 01-02-2011 08:12 PM

I'd be very surprised if Desmond did anything to make the show focus more on intelligent gameplay. He's interested in the titillation aspect, not the fact that it can be a brilliant game given the chance, and will clearly focus on that with a house full of slappers and cheap stunts to get them out of their clothes as often as possible.

Because the format is obviously a bigger success. The US version only looks like a soap opera to you because you're not used the style of editing and the added background music. If the UK version took on aspects of the US format I doubt it would be edited like the US version anyway. Just take the competition element from it perhaps.

That will never work again. It's 2011, not 2001 anymore. The show would flop if it went back to it's old format.

All he said was bring it back to basics, no more gimmicks with tokens & crappy half hearted tasks etc with not all of them being wannabes. How have we moved on from that :conf:

I have a feeling it could be revamped. Maybe they should? Whatever they do to it.. I don't care. I will be watching. Don't mind if it's similar as it was before or if they turn it more into like "BBUSA". I do think there should be more interaction with the public vote. BB needs to listen to the public and fans. (Well the fans obviously) lol.
