Have you ever sung in Public?

I don't just mean as you walk down the street, but actually sung in front of an audience.

I tried karaoke once, I wasn't extremely drunk. But yea it was the only and last time.

Of course - I used to be a folkie, then a singer/songwriter then a failed rock "star" before becoming a civil servant .....

I did the local music festival as part of my primary school's choir once! I'd like to give it a go.

Yes, my local rugby team made it to the final of the scottish rugby cup.

A day out at Murryfield(the home of the scottish national team) for the whole town. All the towns pubs had buses running up the road for the day,i think maybe 25 buses went up that day along with everyone in their cars.

Anyway, our bus from the queens head left at about 10 in the morning for the 40 mile trip, cans up the back and plenty pit stops etc on the way.

Outside the ground there was a stage with bands playing throughout the day to entertain the crowds. I managed to stay off stage until after the game which finished about 5ish, anyway I had a few E's on board as well as the drink, so you can imagine the state I was in. I remember hearing a band doing a cover version of hot chocolates "oh you sexy thing" I thought I'll have some of that so came from behind the stage and sneaked under it much to the surprise of a couple of kids mucking about underneath it, One, a lad of about 7 took fright and clattered his head of the metal poling that was keeping the stage up. I was undetterred and carried on guilt free to his plight. managed to clamber up and grab the mic of the singer and get the song word for word in front of about 1500 people, most of whom I knew..

Sung at ASDA in Bristol when I was about 7 for a competition and last year in the 'Cornwall has the X Factor' day, singing on stage in front of about 100 people. No big thrill but I'd love to do more... I just need to get the confidence first.

In my distant youth I worked for Thomson Cruises as one of the entertainment team - our speciality being to dress up in a grass skirts and sing excerpts from South Pacific - my solo spot was to sing "Happy Talk". Needless to say I was no great loss to show biz.:joker:
