JOSIE GIBSON'S REIGN

15th March 2011
By Peter Dyke & Katie Begley

JOSIE Gibson has landed her own fly-on-the-wall show for Channel 5.

Josie Gibson, 26, will let the cameras in on her life six months after she famously won the last-ever BB series.

The show, There’s Something About Josie, will update fans on what the former sales rep has been up to back in the real world.

Her Aussie boyfriend and ex-BB housemate John James Parton, 25 – who she hooked up with after the C4 show ended – will also feature.

Josie has been busy since being crowned Big Brother queen last summer launching her own perfume, helping raise thousands for a children’s cancer charity and working as a showbiz reporter for OK!TV.

Last night a Channel 5 spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that Josie is filming a behind-the-scenes documentary for us called There’s Something About Josie.”

The three-part series is set to air in May.

Without a doubt two of the most inherently rotten, bullying, hypocritical, incoherent, amoral, nasty hms of all 11 series of BB. Should be hilarious, this, actually.

I thought Leigh Francis had given up the Bo Selecta characters

At least them 3 you just mentioned provided some form of entertainment.

Who is this woman? What's she done to warrant a TV show

Princess 16-03-2011 12:52 AM

I know I'm 100% bias but I honestly don't see why people don't like Josie,John I can kind of understand from a highlight viewer's perspective but what did Josie ever do? People like her,she got a telly show,no one is being forced to watch it.

Entertainment value in BB is generally subjective. A housemate one person can find boring, another can find entertaining.

:puzzled: I don't recognise that over-the-top description of those housemates in the slightest.

I had a bellyful of watching the JJ&J show last year when I had actually tuned in to watch BB11:mad: How many more hours of pointless, innane television are they going to be responsible for?

But I'm all for freedom of choice - if people want to waste several more hours of their lives watching these two boring, talentless individuals that's their business.

You don't know me or anything about me or my friends of the characters I associate with so BIB - first off - keep your uninformed opinions of me to yourself, please, or I'll hit report.
Secondly, I thought all three were horrendous - mind Alexandra was such a caricature that she was almost just funny. You kind of knew where you stood, didn't you? As in, cross the road.

No, Josie is a whole lot worse than Alexandra, for my money. She's a complete and perfect example of a narcissist. The world revolves around her, she's prone to violence - admitted herself she battered her ex in the head with a baseball bat and was severely heavy handed with Sam a couple of times in the house - and the way she ostracised Caoimhe and then made herself look the victim was a masterclass in manipulation and bullying. She constantly, permanently contradicted herself. She tried to turn the house against Sam for saying she would sell stories about her relationship. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
She's done eff all since she walked out. Oh, and this week she has sunk new depths by almost any standard - and that's saying something. To sell the story of having an abortion AT THREE MONTHS FFS for money to OK Magazine - that bastion of exploitative drivel - is astonishing. Then to compound the matter, she turns herself into the victim (oh wait, where did we see THAT before?) and does a complete character assassination on her ex boyfriend, who she stayed with, by the way, for four or five years after he 'forced' her to have an abortion.
How anyone cannot see what a nasty, manipulative, false witch that one is is completely beyond me. And see that, I can do all this without personally insulting YOU.
And don't even get me started on the FAKE engagement pictures, the MYTHICAL three stone weight loss and the PISSED AS A FART turn on Celebrity Juice.
She's a fascinating example of the very worst of zelebrity culture. The epitome of it.

Have to agree with all of this - she actually is a vile human being and I'm gobsmacked that, despite her overt manipulative and spiteful behaviour in the house, she has any following at all. Her jolly country yokel persona has certainly done the job for her. But it's not for nothing that she can't get a visa to visit Australia(according to John James). She probably has criminal convictions, and these days they're fussy about who they let in to their country.

Good post, Patsy. You were more or less challenged, though goodness knows why? as you are entitled to your views as to why you find Josie G so awful, you came up with your reasons in a calm and reasonable manner, a very commendable post

I didn't realise Josie was refused a Visa to visit Australia? and as was pointed out, there are reasons for such. Also because I don't follow Josie's media shenanigans at all, I never knew about her blabbing to a magazine/s about an abortion. I actually dislike Josie G now, whereas before as BB11 had finished and I didn't need to take any notice of her 'I'm not a celebrity' media attention seeking antics, I paid her no heed, and became somewhat neutral about her.

I got this from a post by James about an interview that John James had with an Australian newspaper.

http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/foru...d.php?t=170215

John James says Josie doesn't have "enough points". Now I know for a fact that unless you have certain criminal convictions you will not be denied a tourist visa at least, and it does seem odd that, considering John James is supposedly head over heels in love with Josie and is very close to his mum, that he has not taken his beloved to Oz to meet his friends and family.

You only need a certain amount of "points" if you are considering working and living in Australia.

Suze 16-03-2011 11:29 AM

Thank you for explaining, Angus :) I sometimes watch a programme on one of the main channels where it shows how Airline policies work, and one is about visitors to Australia, and those who are refused entry there, it is interesting how if it is some time back that some trying to gain entry have had their convictions, have now turned over a new leaf/moved on, are allowed in sometimes, depending on those past convictions, but nine times out of ten if convictions are as recent as say the past two years they are not always but usually refused entry. I can't help wondering why Josie would have been refused a Visa/entry? I have to admit the curious side of me would love to know.

Niamh. 16-03-2011 11:31 AM

Can't say I'm overly interested in this show but then again unless it's someone I really, really like I don't watch those fly-on-the-wall type programmes. Good luck to her though
