JORDAN'S doomed marriage to Alex Reid was dealt a huge blow after she refused IVF treatment - crushing his hopes she would have his baby.
The 32-year-old glamour girl, real name Katie Price, endured two failed private procedures but couldn't face a third. That led to a big Christmas row with Alex, 35.
Her refusal to have further treatment has left Alex "destroyed".
The needle-phobic star had the gruelling procedures in her quest to bear her desperate hubby a child.
But when both failed she could not face a third attempt. Her decision sparked a bitter row and the pair, wed just 11 months, are now living apart in separate wings of their Surrey mansion.
Row ... Jordan last weekend
A friend said: "There were many factors to this circus of a marriage falling apart. Alex so desperately wanted to become a dad and believed they were still working on this. But few people understand how gruelling IVF is. Katie underwent hell twice to try and have Alex's baby. She simply couldn't do it for a third time, but didn't have the heart to tell him straight away.

"When it eventually came out he was destroyed. There was a row to end all rows.
"As it stands they are living in separate parts of their house."
IVF requires the mother to repeatedly inject herself with hormones to promote the release of eggs.
Katie - who has three children by previous partners - has admitted she is terrified of needles despite a history of surgery.

After the model's first IVF bid last year, she and cage fighter Alex were told only nine of her eggs had taken instead of a hoped-for 12 or 13.
The couple's hopes were wrecked again after her second private treatment. Katie wrote in her autobiography You Only Live Once: "I convinced myself I was having twins. Then I started experiencing stomach cramps and bleeding. Alex and I had been so hopeful, so excited, and now all our dreams were dashed."
Katie also described an emotional call with her husband, when he asked if she loved him less because they hadn't managed a conception. She said: "I told him, 'Alex, don't EVER think like that. I love you. We will have a baby one day; we'll do whatever it takes'."
But Alex, who was adamant she should continue IVF, looked sombre yesterday as he left the home they share in Woldingham, Surrey. Katie remained in discussions with her representatives last night about releasing a statement regarding the marriage.
Katie made her first comment regarding the matter on Twitter today, saying: "I'm not answering any questions about what's in mags and newspapers as all the nasty comments I'm getting you seem to think you know truth."

I don't blame Katie for not wanting to do IVF again. It must be such a strain. I don't think Katie will ever have any more kids naturally now. She could keep trying to conceive the natural way.. but I think this is it for her.
Alex obviously really wants kids of his own. If there is too much strain now they both might as well split up.
If they do.. I think Katie will still get sympathy. This could be portrayed as Alex forcing Katie to have IVF and do whatever they can for a baby. Who knows what will happen next. They could adopt? But sounds like Alex wants his own biological child.
