Sayings that you feel are right for life.....

Do any of you have sayings in your life that you 'live by'?

for me, one or two that I think always stand true:

What's meant for you, won't go by you.

What goes around, comes around.

Ben Franklin's, "There's only 3 things in life that are certain: Life, Death and taxes".

Not a saying as such but I find that this is fairly accurate.

You can do a 1000 things in a day, do 999 right and 1 wrong but its the 1 wrong that will be highlighted and talked about most.

so so true.

that's recalled another from my memory.

If something doesn't look right: there's a 99% chance it isn't right. That's one I've applied most of my adult life, and I have to say, it's fairly accurate in most situations.

Never make someone your priority if you are only an option to them.

Life's a bitch because if it was a slut, it'd be easy.

Ignorance is bliss.

Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. When you do criticize him you'll be a mile away. And you'll have his shoes.

One of my Nans - "Heaven/life after death must be good. No bugger ever came back"

One of my grandfather's was that Heaven must exist, because life felt a lot like hell much of the time.

Another one that I say often....

Stu 20-03-2011 06:57 PM

I'd love to know 'the reason' for the Japan devestation. Or maybe 'the reason' why a bloke across the road fell of his ladder and sprained his ankle this morning. Or 'the reason' why I just spilled a bit of tea on the carpet.

I hate phrases like that. What's worse is 90% of the airheads I encounter on Facebook seem to automatically believe them. Bloody fairys.

Maybe some of the airheads think that whilst there is a reason for everything - we might not necessarily ever be made aware of why - and sometimes the reason is blatantly obvious.

the reason for Japan was due to natural movements within the deep layers in the planet upon which we live.

the guy who fell off his ladder - because accidents happen.

you spilled tea because you were careless.

Stu 20-03-2011 07:38 PM

Refering of course to those who espouse the statement in the more spiritual sense.
