What if the (possible) new Big Brother followed the Amerian format?

How would you Brits feel? :conf:

Would you be more inclined to watch or would that be the (2nd) end of BB for you?

i personally would hate the idea of it. i would probably still try to watch it but i wouldnt follow it properly like i did/do with the one that was on Ch4. the whole concept of the uk one was why i love it, it was a gameshow but it was more of a social experiment for the majority of the viewing. if it turned into the usa version all people would talk about in the house would be alliances and how to win. i want someone to be crowned champion because they are a good/entertaining person to view not because they have been playing the game well/fake.

i would actually hate channel 5 so much if they did that to big brother. it would ruin my viewing experience. to make it sucseed they need it to be like season 3,5-7. they need people who want fame to the minimum.

For me if the UK decided to follow the US Format i'd NEVER watch BB Again. I'm sorry but i hate the American BB.

The Mistake was that they needed to make it more like Big Brother 5 or Big Brother 7, which were my best series.

Those gifs? :conf:

I've never really watched the US Big Brother but didn't BB11 UK effectively adopt part of the US format with the save-and-replace task? I don't think they would scrap the public vote here.

I wouldnt mind, the "social experiment" aspect of the show died years ago, I'd settle for some mindless entertainment now

This. I mean it would make a change from the "so and so is playing a game" blah blah blah, atleast we would all be happy their all playing the game and we can see who's playing it best instead!

I think maybe they should be a little more selective about the number of shows they do per week. I know it's meant to drag you and and be submersive, but by the end of BB shows every night were just overkill and dull.

Best thing about UK Big Brother is seeing them sit around and getting an insight to how they think by talking utter s*it.

:nono:
season 5-7 is defiantly NOT a cast of people who didnt want fame
Season 5: Michele, Emma (not as many for this series)
Season 6: Leslie, Sam, Kamal, Makosi, Saskia ect.
Season 7: NIKKI. Lea, Jayne, Imogen ect.

If BB came back in American format I would not watch it at all....

I still believe it will not come back in any format ever....

Personally, I think the American format is closer to being an actual social experiment. The themes can sometimes be depressing (kissing up to power, backstabbing, lying, deceiving) but if that reflects the society from which it originates then it's the truer version of BB. Has 11 years of BB UK ever produced someone as deliciously evil as Will Kirby or as awesome as Janelle?

if you read i didnt say season 5-7 had people who wanted fame less. i said it had to me more like them then i put a full stop and said people who dont want fame to the minimum. i meant as entertaining as those years but get people who aren't driven by fame.

but i do feel in those series' and the ones previous people weren't as clear with what they desired from the show and didnt make it as obvious. where as take bb9 they put in stephanie who went in there saying all she wanted was fame.
