Hmm, Maybe they will get away with more then. Hopefully it'll be a mostly new production team! :D

It's a completely new production team, Initial (who are in charge of it now) are part of Endemol, but a different division to the one behind the last seven or eight series.

The article above also has statements from Endemol and C5 confirming the deal once and for all and names Phil Edgar Jones' replacement.

This just keeps getting better. It's official, that paper has a long quote from a c5 boss.

BIG Brother is set to make a dramatic return to TV this summer in an exclusive *multimillion pound deal with Channel 5.

And to the delight of the show’s *millions of fans, it returns with a sexed-up, “rock and roll” house where stars will be encouraged to party like never before.

Channel 5 will host the celebrity version of the show’s highly-*anticipated return to British TV screens first.

That will then be followed by a *further series for “ordinary” members of the public.

Myleene Klass, Cheryl Cole and Emma Willis are all in the frame to become the show’s main host, with former Big Brother double-winner Brian Dowling looking a hot favourite to host spin-off show Big *Brother’s Little Brother.

Meanwhile a host of stars are already being eyed up for the infamous house, including actress and campaigner Joanna Lumley, 64, entrepreneur Mohamed Al Fayed, 78, Essex model Amy Childs, sporting hero James Cracknell, 38, TV *presenter Peaches Geldof, 22, disgraced football pundit Andy Gray, 55, actress Martine McCutcheon, 34, former Big Brother winner Josie Gibson, 26, and boxer Ricky Hatton, 32.

Big Brother is set to make a dramatic return to TV
î

Jeff Ford, Channel 5 director of *programmes, yesterday confirmed that the show is coming back – and with a bang.

He said: “We’re hugely excited to have secured the return of Big Brother for Channel 5 which will form a key part of this year’s schedule. The series has previously captivated a decade of television viewers and we aim to bring Channel 5’s energy, optimism and vibrancy to the series.”

The deal with Big Brother creators and production company Endemol UK will see Channel 5 hold the *exclusive rights to the series in a two‑year deal. The series will be filmed in its original home, at historic Elstree Studios, and will be produced by *Initial, which is a production arm of Endemol UK.

Dramatic changes will be made to Channel 5’s Celebrity Big Brother House, including the installation of a public telephone so that stars can make calls to their loved ones in the outside world. But, as usual, anyone at the *receiving end must keep quiet about world news events and media coverage of the show.

And, instead of punishing stars with deprivation and hard graft, the new stellar Big Brother House will be a world of “playfulness and decadence,” with regular champagne parties, games and tasks to keep the *housemates occupied.

Meanwhile, later in the year, one lucky fan of the show will be given the chance to win a golden ticket into the “regular” Big Brother House.

Big Brother is one of the world’s most successful television brands having had 19 series aired across 81 territories in 2010 and its global popularity shows no sign of abating.

Tim Hincks, chief executive officer of Endemol UK, said: “Big Brother has a passionate and loyal fan base in the UK and I’m delighted it has found a new home on Channel 5. Ten years on it’s as potent and cutting edge as ever and it’s still one of the only truly multi-platform entertainment brands.”

Channel 5’s head of factual entertainment, Steve Gowans, will oversee the new series. At Initial the series will be overseen by creative director, Nick Samwell-Smith and managing director Laurence Jones.

The last series of Big Brother aired in summer 2010 on Channel 4 and was a ratings hit, with many viewers lamenting its loss from their screens. In just one year since the show disappeared, almost 60,000 fans joined a campaign to Bring Back Big Brother on social networking site Facebook.

Does the no contact with the outside world not matter to anyone else? I hope they don't do that with the normal BB :(

That rule hasn't been enforced since BB8.

Tony1111 05-04-2011 11:43 PM

I really don't like the phone idea I hope they use it on a token basis like they did for the straighteners.

DigitalSid 05-04-2011 11:45 PM

Remember the phone is for CBB, not BB (though the house will be the same so it will probably stay for both).

Tony1111 05-04-2011 11:48 PM

We need another Sov in there to wreak havoc on the rest of the celebs say what you want about the series going down hill but she was a saviour! :D

Cher, would be great but CBB is on at the same time as her album is released so she'll be promoting that. :/

I have good feelings about Cher though I think with the right target audience she could make it big time and possibly be "too" good for BB. :joker:

the no contact concept is really important for me, in enraged me when people got to see news and stuff in bb8. BIG BROTHER needs the no contact thing. but i dont think even if they do it it will stick because they will just have people getting information about everything from "loved ones". and it will ruin it but you never know
