"Im staying as the voice of Big Brother"

Yes! Yes! Yes! I thought at first glance, but upon reading in the Daily Star's article we're not told whether Marcus Bentley has been approached, seems quite likely though!
Anyway here's the link of the midnight article in case it hasn't been posted already-

Claymores 09-04-2011 08:04 AM

It's a win-win for me if the Daily Star can ever be considered credible............the Gurner out on her arse but Murcus staying

SaveBigBrotherOnFacebook 09-04-2011 08:09 AM

Brilliant!
Marcus is the only man for the job :D

Patrick 09-04-2011 11:00 AM

Wouldn't be Big Brother without him tbh.

I almost cried at 'It would break my heart to see someone else doing it.'
It's so nice that he thinks that way, and I agree with him.

The Article pretty much confirms it.

Sawyer 09-04-2011 11:11 AM

But he said on Twitter he hasn't been approached last night:

"I've got no news on BB at the moment guys! I'm chuffed to bits that it's back + on 5! Any news + my followers will be the first to know! XXx"

In the Daily Star? It's hardly confirmation.

Yeah, so? Oh thats right, the Daily Star has always printed the absolute truth eh?

The article doesnt say it has been confirmed, it doesnt state he has signed or even that Ch5 or Endemol have approached Bentley.

Dont you think if they had approached him, or he had signed a contract he would have mentioned it on twitter?

The Daily Star has went from being the most unreliable source in the world when it came to Big Brother, to now becoming the most reliable.

They aren't going to print BS about Big Brother when they essentially own it and by they I mean Desmond.

No.

Gillian-73 09-04-2011 12:30 PM

I normally would take what the daily star says with a pinch of salt but because of who the owner is i'm inclined to believe this! now, that could be more wishful thinking :elephant: because as far as i'm concerned marcus is the only man for the job!

Stacey. 09-04-2011 12:42 PM

That's good :D It wouldn't feel the same without him being the narrator.

Claymores 09-04-2011 12:46 PM

Fingers crossed Marcus gets the job - of all the rumours, I hope this is the one true

Most reliable? Well I wouldnt go that far. They are simply filling newsprint with nothing, there is no relaible information in it about Bentley. Sorry you cant see that but its true.

Why are they doing it? To ramp up interest but more importantly to increase its circulation, circulation means profit. That unfortunately is the editorial policy of the Daily Star, to print speculation and hype it up as fact, if it does happen to occur later they then state we broke it to you first.

Bentley said they havent even approached him, I would tend to believe him after all he has been straight down the line, he hasnt posted garbage rumours and speculation.

Maybe Ch5/Endemol do intend to obtain his services again, maybe they will approach him, maybe they will even employ him again, maybe they fully intend to.

At the moment though we dont know. It may be different in a few days time. There may be an announcement that they have him under contract but at the moment there is no reason to believe that as fact.

Sorry to piss on your bonfire but that the reality of the situation.

No one has at this stage been approached about anything, the deal was signed 3 days ago, you don't approach anyone before you know it's definitely going ahead, and when it does go ahead (as it now is), the talent isn't the first thing to be considered. The Star (and sister, less made up paper The Express) does all but confirm C5's interest though, and why would they be interested? They'd be foolish not to go for such an iconic voice over, the ringtone of thousands during BB's height:

"BIG BROTHER voice- over star Marcus Bentley can’t wait to resume his role on Channel 5."

Even The Star with their low standards of journalism would put "would like to" / "is interested in" if C5 were planning on asking someone else.

Claymores 09-04-2011 01:36 PM

FFS kid - I only do gambling on BB and rarely talk of BB outwith gamblng - stop being an arse

No.

They will still print BS, but to pad out the currently scarce real details now rather than because they have no one on the inside to give them them.
