BB12 - More of a gameshow?

Do you think BB12 will be more of a gameshow? Still reality TV but plenty of tasks and twists. Like BB USA! And hopefully they will take ideas from other BB's too!

There is 500 grand at stake. They are not just going to have a plain sailing 13 week series are they? I hope it does turn more into a gameshow!

Also.. apparently it's going back to basics? I like this in terms of NO CONTACT with the outside world and hopefully the chickens will be back. But I think the housemates should have a luxury house with plenty of food and booze so they are not complaining they are bored and threaten to leave!

All the housemates each week should fight survival in a task to actually stay in the house. If the house is so luxorous then the housemates will more likely to be happy, bubbly and entertaining and less boring! And will not want to leave!

I would like it to go down the competition route, after all like you say, its a gameshow, and the prize fund is a massive 500k, but I don't want it to be like BB USA, its too much like a competition. After all BB is reality TV but its also a competition. There needs to be a healthy balance, whilst bringing something new to the table.

I think we should go down the competition route, one of the biggest gripes I had with the show was the almost wet attitudes of the housemates, one of the great things about American reality tv is that the contestants know it's a game and embrace the game wholeheartedly, and those who didn't were picked off early. I think it would be really refreshing to see someone ruthless and strategically motivated winning the game, a British answer to a Richard Hatch or Dr Will Kirby.

Hm, interesting..

I like that idea. Perhaps after nominations the people who weren't up for eviction have to compete in a task or something to fight for their place in the house, and whoever does the worst is also up for eviction?

Yes!! Because come on.. the ones who are usually up for eviction first are the entertaining ones. The quiet, boring ones never get nominated and sail to the final. I agree there should be a task where EVERYONE has to fight for their place in the house. Not just sitting under the radar!!

Yeah, and if the task was something very big and something not everyone would be up to (I'm not exactly sure what) it would really separate the boring ones from the interesting ones.

yes with prize money that big there's definitely gonna be more game playing. No question. It will be more like the US version.

In the past I dont think theyve really started thinking about the prize money until the latter stages when they can sense they may have a shot at actually winning. But they also know they can make some cash from doing publicity stuff too. But the prize money now is life changing and far more than theyd expect to make from doing PA work.

Game on.

:elephant:

Imagine in BB11.. if all the housemates had to do a physical task to fight for survival!! Josie would have lost.. and the beached whale could have been out first!!

I also think all the housemates should each go into the diary room 1 by 1. They are all asked about 10 general knowledge questions. The housemates with the least amount right are automatically put up for eviction!!

Nominations each week will still be included!

Very true Zippy!! Not only that. I just think all the housemates should get off their fat arses and always fight for survival to stay in the house!

Like Doogle said.. it will seperate the interesting ones to the boring ones!

It should always be the public vote for who gets Evicted.

well the housemates have a huge say, firstly

I do hope a vote to save is applied in the ch5 version though.

Ch4 seemed stuck with the vote to evict because of their who goes you decide catchphrase.

karl100589 12-04-2011 11:58 PM

The way I would do it is this:

Nominations/ strategies can openly be discussed.
The 4 contestants with the most votes go up for eviction rather then 2.
Save and Replace stays, but have some possibility of nominations stay the same (a randomly selected 5th contestant competing for that?)
Vote to save

That way we get the best of all worlds, the gameplay element, added unpredictability, something which is still familiar to the audience and a logical way of culling the deadwood.

Jordan. 12-04-2011 11:59 PM

Yeah, but they need to find the right type of housemates who are selfish and will do anything to win, not another happy house!!!!

_Seth 13-04-2011 12:00 AM

I'm much more into the reality aspect of it.

True. They do. Especially with the nominations. And the public are usually wondering when will "so and so" be up for eviction so we can get them out. Hence why Lisa from BB10 lasted so long.

Therefore I think tasks for EVERYONE to take part in for survival should happen as well.

Then at least 4 housemates are up for eviction and then the public decides who they want to save and then hopefully the boring one will get the least amount of votes and is evicted first.
