On the back of the recent Imogen Thomas story: I have no respect at all for women like this: who go through scores of footballers in sad effort to get one of them to marry them:

Danielle (?) bird who's got the kiddie, preggars again, called off wedding.

What's wrong with these fools going out to do regular normal work and gaining some self respect - rather than wanting to hang onto coat tails of the rich and famous.

another one that totally flabbergasts me is the stupid mare that is Coleen Rooney. Tramped all over by her supposedly loving husband time and time again........ and still clings to him like a limpet.

It's part of culture now though, it hasnt just happened overnight, it's been that way for years.....it doesnt particularly bother me though.

I know it's not happened overnight - but it seems far more prevailant these days: it seems for many young women it's their 'career / ambition'.

Sad and pathetic - does money (because ultimately that's the lure...and what the money can bring) mean so much? Talk about shallow.

guess they are in their own way, Prostitutes. Hardly surprising that their men regard them so lowly, low enough not to be faithful. Makes sense.

I wouldn't consider Colleen a typical "wag" either tbh as she was with Wayne before he was famous. Also Louise Rednapp and Posh spice as they were already famous and had money etc. I agree 100% about Danielle and Imogen though and that "type"

I just think this gagging order is massively unfair on the unnamed footballer's wife, whoever they both are. She has a right to know surely.

Plus, I don't have any sympathy for Imogen, but she shouldn't be the only one getting named and shamed. Still, Imogen can't complain when she opts for the "line of work" that she does. She might have been taken advantage of, but the world of celebrity for celebrity's sake is an industry that thrives on exploitation and shallowness.

yeah, that's what I thought too but I suppose, atleast it stops Imogen making money from selling the story.

I almost get the impression from the more gullible ones that they think that if they do anything to get to be a WAG, the money at their disposal can buy back their dignity and self respect over time. I reckon Coleen Rooney's in it half because they've been together for so long and half because she's afraid to leave him for that very reason mixed with not wanting to leave the lifestyle behind. I don't know why women go for the young footballers either, they are not going to be settling down until their late 20s/early 30s at the very earliest, these guys go around the world and have the same type of woman throwing themselves at them in different countries.

I really hate the culture though, it's just an evolution of the chav culture IMO.

she was indeed.... and despite him poking all manner of other woman when he his fame started to rise: when many females would have walked away: she remained with him.... even after he was found to be up to no use again whilst she was pregnant - such a blatant show of lack of respect not only for his wife, but the mother of his child.

I'd say the wife already knew. If anything: the gagging order will not doubt be in place to safe her the very public humiliation and degradation that her husband and the trollop that is Imogen, have caused her.

He shouldn't be getting away with it, he only will do so because his wife and children will be put in the public eye due to his and Imogen's behaviour.

I think it comes down(in most cases) to how much you love the person, and if you can forgive them.

Sometimes it would be fear of leaving them, in a lot of 'WAGs' cases I would think a lot dont want to give up the lifestyle...but it really depends on the person

Oh absolutely...... I agree.... but this is about those who are in the public spotlight and specifically, those women who want to grab and keep hold of a footballer regardless of the humiliation they are put through.

yeah and I would say in alot of WAGS cases you're right. I was just pointing out the ones who I don't believe are like the "normal wags" imo anyway

well women often cling to men despite being treated badly regardless of their profession.

Coleen has been with Wayne for a long time. Even before he became a succesful player I believe. So I don't think she fits in to your golddiggers group. She obviously just loves the man and wants to keep him. She's rich and famous enough in her own right now so she doesn't need to stay with him for those reasons.

Why on earth would anyone want to stay with someone who treats them with such disdain? She (Coleen) certainly fits into my 'group' of women who have absolutely little respect for themselves that they are happy to be humiliated in this way. Beats me how anyone can 'love' someone who is happy to hurt them in such a way.
