Easter Weekend - Who Do You Buy Eggs For??

If anyone?

I never even knew that people, for Lent, gave up dairy products and therefore there was an abundance of eggs come Easter cos the chickens...... well they carry on regardless.... and here's why we have 'the Easter Egg' *feels stupid*

Anyway, will you buy anyone an egg? A card? Or just slob out because it's a 4 day lie in?

Oh and I only buy for my daughter now. I used to buy for the entire family (extended) but I'd need a bank loan these days

She has a KitKat, Aero, Minstrels (getting robbled by me) and Mini Eggs (Robbed also)

Nah I just receive eggs, got two kit kat chunky ones so far.

I don't buy them for anyone.

And as I don't like chocolate, some of my family get gifts for me in place of an egg.

Yes, my Family and especially Nieces and Nephews.

I buy for all of my nieces and nephews and also my friends kids but this year I'm just giving my older nephews money instead of eggs.

No one.

I don't really buy eggs for others and some of my family like see as me as too old for them now so they just give me money instead (which I prefer much more).

I end up having to buy around 9 eggs, between kids and nieces and nephews.

Giving eggs at Easter has nothing to do with having an abundance of chickens' eggs. Christians stole the Pagan festival of Oestre, which fell on the Spring equinox, and replaced it with their festival. Oestra was a goddess of fertility - it's where we get the name of the female hormone oestragen. Oestra's symbol was a egg, symbolising fertility. So the egg is a Pagan symbol at a Christian festival. Incidentally, another of Oestra's symbols is the Hare, which is probably where the Easter Bunny came from.

I always buy my closest friends an Easter Egg - with a preference on their fav choccie.

My staff: - simply because they are great bunch of people who are a pleasure to work with. Bought them all a Lindt Chocolate Easter Bunny each - as well as all names put in a hat - and the name picked out got a huge Belgian Chocolate Easter Egg.
