Why did Big Brother 6 suffer abit of a Ratings Drop?
 

Big Brother 6 was classic, but it's probably [next to BB9] as the most under rated series of all time.

The golden years;
2004 to 2006 for Big Brother were great but it seems BB6 suffered from a little ratings dip compared to BB5 and BB7.

So why did a series in the middle of everyone's 2 favourite series, fail to reach the same amount of ratings?

Even people on here, alot of people missed BB6.
I heard someone mention the ratings drop was due to the World Cup, but BB3 was during the World Cup and that was the biggest series of all time, and I'm not a football person but didn't the World Cup take place in 2006?
BB7 managed just fine.

So what was it with BB6?

The ratings were't BB10 Bad now, but just between BB5 and BB7 they seemed to of got a bit of a kick in the balls.

Because BB5's had its rating increase due to fight night, and BB7 had Nikki which incresed their viewers (the views dropped when Nikki was evicted the first time).

there weren't really any massive "events", or stand-out controversial housemates. It's hard to believe that when you think of Makosi's "pregnancy" or Kinga's bottle - but the other series had violent fights (Science throwing a bin was about as bad as BB6 got) and HMs with boring catchphrases that everyone talked about (who is she? i'm so cold, etc.)

and yeah the world cup years were BB3, BB7 and BB11.

BB6 was my fave series ever but i think its probably because there was no like-able housemates, they were all bastards and i think people lose interest if they dont have somebody to support so thats probably why

The housemates were complete wankbaskets leaving the core audience delighted but no real incentive for casual viewers to hop on board so they can understand what their mates were talking about.

bb6 is definitely underated, my second/third favourite season. i guess it wasnt as good as people expected after bb5 and then 7 had massive advertising and was everywhere so ratings picked back up.

true. nikki shouldnt have been evicted full stop. she should have been in the final the proper way.

Yeah the housemates were unlikeable, like they were all arrogant bastards.
Even the winner is despised by BB Fans everywhere.

And Orlaith, she still walks about thinking she is somebody when it was like 6 years ago.

But I actually find the BB7 lot more unlikeable really, I'm not sure why.
Might be time for a rewatch of that series.

I would really like to watch BB6 again, i wonder if anyone would post links to it, like someone has done for BB3, cause i cant really remember much about that series.

It has to be 1 series at a time lol its very time consuming

Two threads at the same time would be a hassle, plus you have to take into consideration CBB8.

He had BB9, BB7 and BB5 - the 3 Best Series of all time.

I'm well up for this BB6 shindig if good quality footage can be had of it. I've never seen it in full. I only started watching in 2006. That night Shabaz got his knob out.

They picked the worse day to shut it down aswell, I was like on the final of BB5 and they shut it down and I had to go and finish BB5 on YouTube in horrible quality. :(

You should make a site but do what DeeJayAJ does and keep it on the DL and just let people in through invites.

Are they good quality? Obviously the early series are so hard to find it good quality, but are 6-10 good?

Oh I've watched most of 5. Was always easy to find on the net compared to 6.

I'll prob hit up iOffer and buy some DVD's to keep me going until August. 6 is top of the list.

The HMs were mostly egotistical NPOWs or badly damaged goods (apart from Science) that some viewers didn't like on sight (Leslah getting her udders out before midnight on Day 1) or on subsequent viewings (Saskia the head-bobbing racist who hand-jobbed the odious Maxwell) .... :eek:
