"We are anomynous, we are leigon"

WTF...lmao

Stu 25-04-2011 05:39 PM

They are a well known cavalcade of boring hacker pseudo activists with past issues with Sony. And apprently it's not them.

Shaun 25-04-2011 05:43 PM

oh for the love of God. They tried taking down Tumblr with this series of "press releases" and self-reverential bullcrap like "we are unstoppable, we are well 'ard mate".

They make TiBB Eurovision look like third base, it's that tragically antisocial.

Scarlett. 25-04-2011 05:43 PM

Yeah, but they make it sound as if they are important...when all they're trying to do is hack a games console's online function...it's laughable

Looked into the group on Wikipedia, and it does sound like they've actually done some worthwhile things after all (apparently they helped police jail a peado), and they're not totally pointless, though still childish though attacking Sony ect.

AJ. 25-04-2011 08:15 PM

Sony deserve what they're getting imo.
Removing a core PS3 feature sold with the console - pointless & illegal.
Paying judges to side with them in cases that are so laughable should have been thrown out.
Arresting & confiscating people's equipment even though they haven't done anything illegal.
Nice to see them being taught a lesson :)

Stu 25-04-2011 08:29 PM

I don't see what in relative terms was a minor problem has to do with knocking tens of millions of innocent peoples access to online gaming offline.

Bravo, hackerz.

Scarlett. 25-04-2011 08:57 PM

Anonymous' reasons are a bit stupid, they want to ruin them because they took a person who illegally hacked them to court? They're well within their right to do that

"A person who illegally hacked them"?

He legally hacked his own property.. to run home made applications NOT for piracy as he is being taken to court for, the code he released was not able to play backed up games.

Stu 25-04-2011 09:59 PM

I believe in my own ~crazy way that my point still holds merit.

Response?

So when Sony illegally remove a core feature that's fine but when the hackers temporarily disable a feature for just a few days in protest that's somehow worse?

They havent illegally taken PSN down, PSN is a free feature that Sony provide to you, Sony have taken it down to protect OUR financial details and fix the problems

You misunderstood my post.

"So when Sony illegally remove a core feature (LINUX) that's fine but when the hackers temporarily disable a feature (PSN) for just a few days in protest that's somehow worse?"

Stu 25-04-2011 11:03 PM

'Temporarily remove a feature'? They have removed the entire interface you fucking ******.

Sony control PSN. It is the online service provided to us PlayStation users in order to game online. Millions of online gamers are suffering right now because of these hackers attacks.

If you can provide a statistical figure of users greater than those who are suffering now who were suffering before this whole debacle began then please do so.

Wow your lovely.

I said they've temporarily disabled it, how am I wrong? or do you seriously think psn will never be back online.

Stats are irrelevant, it isn't like psn has been removed unlike the other feature that was sold as a main feature when I forked out £200.

Oh and "suffering"? Really? :joker:

Stu 25-04-2011 11:18 PM

Yeah PlayStation owners really value Linux over PSN as a whole don't they.Fucking hell. Just kill me now. Stats are entirely relevant, believe it or not. We use statistics in the real word to measure damage versus gain. What has this hacker attack gained versus what it's damaged?

Go on. Humour me.

AJ. 25-04-2011 11:31 PM

Why are you so angry lol.

Stats are irrelevant in that one feature no matter how many people actually used it has been permanently removed whereas the psn will only be down for about a week or so.

Stu 25-04-2011 11:37 PM

No. Wrong. Statistics are not irrelevant. Statistics are never irrelevant. That is why they exist. Once again can you please compare the damage caused to the PSN and it's users versus what is actually being accomplished.

Cheers.

AJ. 25-04-2011 11:54 PM

Is a few days without psn as tragic as your making it?

Sony removed a feature that was sold with the original system & then decided to remove which is illegal but ofcourse that is irellevent because you didn't use it & are never wrong.

Stu 25-04-2011 11:58 PM

Can you copy and paste a quote that confirms your view that I am making this out to be some modern day tragedy?

Once again I implore you to compare the damage caused versus the ~amazing gains. Just try and justify it. Go on.

Thank you.

Scarlett. 26-04-2011 12:12 AM

What the **** was Linux doing on the PS3? I doubt anyone will miss it lmao

AJ. 26-04-2011 12:19 AM

I think both are wrong but I don't agree that it's 100% the hackers fault. Sony have broke the law & yet seem to be the ones throwing court orders all over the place. Sony without any real law behind them (just money) are arresting & confiscating these "hackers" & their equipment & people are surprised that they've retaliated.

I don't think there has been so much damage done, surely people can last with psn for a few days. The only true damage is to Sony themselfs in which IMO they sorta deserve.

Damaged caused - Sony's reputation, people can't play online for a few days.
Gains - Damaged Sony's reputation.

People should be angry with Sony not with the hackers just because they didn't bend over.

Is that enough of would you like a pie chart.
