Have You Bothered to Vote Today?

How many of you have actually voted today?

And whilst we're at it.. if you did, did you vote yes or no in the AV referendum?

Poll to follow... :)

I overslept, and wasn't really decided with which way to vote anyway. Guess I could still pop down if I make my mind up in a couple of hours

You still have 5 and a half hours

Shaun 05-05-2011 03:23 PM

I honestly can't make my mind up RE: the referendum. The "no" campaign seems petty and an attack against Nick Clegg, but I also genuinely don't want minority parties making decisions. The "yes" campaign is equally petty and seems to be going for the 'we have loads of comedians and celebrities supporting us, vote for us' route. But I guess is more democratic.

Aaaagh I'll vote yes. -goes to put on shoes-
as for the mayor, I'll just pick the name that looks nicest.

Yay! Go Shaun!

Locke. 05-05-2011 03:28 PM

I don't get it, are we voting for the new Primeminister or what?

Lee. 05-05-2011 03:33 PM

To be honest.. I'm not positive what you're voting for in England.

In Scotland, we were voting for our First Minister and for our local MSP.. plus this bloody AV thing!

Josy 05-05-2011 03:37 PM

I never voted, but I did see one guy standing alone outside the school with a sign telling people not to trust Labour it was pouring down with rain too and he was still standing there when I passed again an hour later

Yes - voted NO obviously since AV will just give us a future of hung parliaments and coalitions. If we can't have PR, my preference, then FPTP is fine with me. AV would be a complete and utter disaster and if you're not sure what it would mean or what you're actually voting for, why would you vote Yes? That's just dumb. Those that can't be arsed to vote at all have no business whingeing and whining about the outcome.
