Hypnotism
 

Do you believe in it? Do you believe it works? Would you or have you ever been hypnotised?

No, not talking about running around acting like a chicken but actual serious hypnosis. Would you trust or try it or do you believe it's a load of crap?


I'd try it but don't think for one minute it'd work on me. I'm such a skeptic

I should imagine half of it is placebo, the rest imagination. But what do I know :laugh: the mind is a strange thing.

I have a Paul McKenna book and CD. I have to admit it does give me a boost. But, that said, I question it so .... :joker:

I'm not sure. One half of me says its total bollocks

But when I was on holiday when i was very young, my mum got hypnotised. She was told that her shoe was a cat and started stroking it and that. And my mams not one to make a fool of herself to make someone else look good. And she was ill for days afterwards aswelll...headaches. Though not sure if they were related :laugh:

I would never try it, I like to know what I am saying and doing.

I don't think it's a question of belief. There is such a thing as legitimate hypnosis. If it does any good on that leather couch or not is a different story but it does exist.

And I'm not talking about daft **** like Paul McKenna.

I think its very effective in some cases. But I think some are more suited than others.

I want it to stop me biting my nails. But I don't trust a stranger to hypnotize me. God knows how any woman would trust a male to do it on their own somewhere. Thats a bit creepy. You should have a friend there with you or somebody.

don't believe what? Obviously some people are hypnotized to some degree or other. They suddenly do things they would just never do if they were consciously in control of their own minds.

but I think you have to be in the right state of mind. Some people can probably never be hypnotized. I think I'd resist it.

I don't believe it works, I believe people imagine it works. I know for a fact that those people on that Paul McKenna show are paid to act like they're hypnotised

When abroad Ive seen a few hypnotism shows with members of the audience being 'hypnotised' and others that it did not work on. Id love to have a go!

LOL. its not all about the Paul McKenna show. This has centuries of practice behind it. Its a legit form of help for many people. You can't dismiss all the evidence or the millions who have had fears and phobias cured through it.

The mind is very powerful and definitely open to suggestion under the right circumstnces. Thats basically what it is..mind manipulation.

yeah I know, the Paul McKenna bit was secondary. I mean I don't believe it actually works, I think people imagine it does so it kind of does, if you get what I mean?:joker:
