Steve Jones To Host US X-Factor. WHAT?

Steve Jones has reportedly landed the job of hosting The X Factor USA.

Radio DJ Edith Bowman appeared to confirm the news on Twitter, adding that the presenter could have a Pussycat Doll co-host.

Jones has previously confirmed his discussions with producers about the role and told DS that he would "love" to join the show.

Meanwhile, Nicole Scherzinger was rumoured to be in line for the co-host position, but recently admitted that her involvement was still "up in the air".

Bowman wrote: "The Brits invade. Steve Jones is gonna host the American X Factor I hear (sic). Well bloody done you Mr Jones.

"And a Pussycat Doll to co-host possibly?"

Cheryl Cole was recently confirmed to be a judge on the show.

Surely a joke.

Dermot will not be amused if this is true.

Thought he said he was the only english person being considered of something? (Or is steve jones welsh? For some reason Im thinking he is)

Zippy 07-05-2011 02:23 PM

Too many Brits. Simons being a bit too self indulgent and it could backfire.

and Steve Jones is smug, sarcastic and unfunny.

moneys no object. The winner gets a $5mill contract. They could easily have offered a $100k contract.

Simon just wants familiar people round him and he needs to think of his audience more. Americans.

This show could generate billions if it lasts several series. He's risking it flopping after one series.

Mr XcX 07-05-2011 04:27 PM

Hate him!!

He is pathetic!!!

FFS it is called X Factor USA Simon!!! Not X Factor UK!!

Simon Cowell is such a ****, hate him.

Marsh. 07-05-2011 04:29 PM

If this is true, Dermot is going to look a right tool.

Talking about how he was a little disappointed he didn't get the job yet he took pride in being the only Briton in the final shortlist. lol

You are wrong
if King Simon can Save Millions by getting Jones

than a High Paid Yank
he will.

King Simon
does not care about your Negative view.

Callum 07-05-2011 05:18 PM

Poor Dermot if this is true, he's a much better host and and doesn't have really horrible strong accent like Steve does. There'll no doubt be needing subtitles for both Steve and Cheryl on this show.

Yeah, he's Welsh but I think Dermot said he was the only Brit considered?

he said he was the only Brit on the shortlist so...yeah

wrong, Dermy!

Simon should have a US host that the US public are familiar with and will warm to instantly. Like they have on The voice which is proving a success.

all these unfamiliar foreigners are a huge risk. And Paula's last show was a flop. Simon needs to get real.

It doesn't bother me that much, it's just very strange. Think i've mentioned it once several days ago, but never mind.

And whilst the second option is very tempting, I'll go with the first next time.

No King Simon
will get them trained to speak the way the Yanks need
it can be done.

Look at that English Actor in House.

 You're actually comparing an actor like Hugh Laurie, who by definition should be able to change persona and accents to an autocue reading unfunny man like Steve Jones.

You can't be trained to have talent. You either have it or you don't.
