Amanda Byram "I don't want to be a Davina wannabe"
 

Amanda Byram has said that she is wary about taking on the hosting job on Channel 5's Big Brother.

The Total Wipeout presenter, who has been linked to the returning reality show, claimed that she is concerned about taking over the helm from Davina McCall.

"I took over from Johnny and Denise on the Big Breakfast and while it was amazing, I just think that comparisons are such a difficult thing," she told DS. "It's like a sequel to a really good film. Who wants to see Titantic 2?

"I don't know if it's had its day or not. There's definitely a market for it. But I think Davina's fantastic and do you want to be called the Davina wannabe? I don't think anyone can do it as well as she does. Saying that... it depends how much they are offering."

Celebrity Big Brother returns in August. A non-celebrity version will follow in September.

shes totally talking to channel 5 i think she'll have the job her name was the first mentioned id put a fair amount of money on her getting the job i think she'll be great!

Hate her on Total Wipeout, bland, dull and not nice to look at.

Being Irish myself, I don't want an Irish host. I can't stand hearing the accent on TV let alone around me, I find it very grating on the ears, then again I watched the ITV2 awards after show with Emma and she's rather Screechy on it but a good listening and interviewer. :D

I actually quite like her on Total Wipeout, however cant see her being a good BB host..

Brian Dowling will be the perfect host! and not all Irish accents are screechy

Oh I'm not saying they are but try coming from Belfast! :p

Bryan would be nice for BBLB with Josie *shudders* if she has to be involved. :D

Dont remember her from the Big Breakfast, but don't like her on Total Wipeout, will be gutted if she is the presenter.:bawling:

There seems to be a lot of press about who doesn't want to be presenter. Hardly promising stuff so far.

She has a point tbh. It's not a easy job for a presenter to take on when no one knows if it is going to be successful or not.

This sounds like her playing hard to get with CH5 , which probably means she has been approached about the job , and its the money that is the sticking point

Emma Willis would do a good job. She's not a Davina wannabe. She's not up her own arse. She is a massive fan of the show and would listen to the housemates and be a great interviewer.

Emma has said she would love the job. I think Amanda is sort of slagging it off just in case she doesn't get it.....

Greedy bitch. These "so called" celebs coming out of the woodwork because a prestigious job is in place.

I bet Emma won't demand a lot of money! None of them should get the same wage as Davina got.. they should all work their way up.

Like Emma.. she has been on BBBM, BBLB and now hopefully she will become the main host :D

She is right to be concerned. She is more bland and amateur than George Lamb if that were at all possible.
