The Sea

Are you comfortable with it? Not just to walk by along the beach but to actually get in? Would you swim, surf, paddle, sail etc? Or does it's sheer force and unpredictable nature (plus the possible stuff in it) put you off?

Also, would it depend where you are?

No the sharks will eat me

InOne 15-05-2011 02:47 AM

Welll always dived into it in the middle of Greece and Turkey, was coool

I'm fine with coastlines I just hate the idea of the middle of the ocean. Don't like swimming in it mostly because of seaweed...just feels gross LOL

I was always in the sea as a kid. Now I'd scream the beach down if anything touched me and I didn't know what it was :o

I'm so scared of drowning too so wouldn't swim or sail

CharlieO 15-05-2011 03:18 AM

Im very comfortable in it. Been surfing, snorkelling, got a scuba licence thing. Its so nice in islands out here where its hot and the water is clear but there are like sharks and rays and stuff.

Hate english sea that scares me because of jelly fish and seaweed.

i love the sea <3

I'm wary of sailing but have done, I like swimming in the sea but have never surfed. I do have worries about it but I am fascinated by the power the water has.

Outside of a ship or boat I don't like to be too far from the shore though.

My local beaches are nasty and with no sand but the sea is so fun. Even if it's cold and last time I like broke my knee.

Being near water truly soothes my soul!!!

Piscean here - so that speaks for itself and it's where I feel most at ease and relaxed.

Love watersports :shocked: !!! Waterskiiing, snorkelling, swimming, whizzing around in speed boats with the wind, seaspray hitting you. Completely rejuvinating.

Hols abroad usually have to be smack bang on the beach - or within sight of a few hundred meters.

Some beautiful beaches around the UK /England ......just depends wehre. Cornish coast for example may not be upto the usual paradise standards you're used to, but there are a lot of stunning beaches here - and fab in summer.

I have the ability really to like kind of tell the future in a sense, It's just one of the things that make me amazing - but for years I've always had dreams of my Brother drowning in a river.

Then one time we were going fishing with my dad
/summer06ftw

And my Brother like fell into this river and my Dad just stood there talking on the phone. :bored:

So that's haunted me, I'm afraid of drowning and swimming in the sea because of Salt Water and Sea Weed.
Also it's freezing - you could go to Spain on a really really warm day and the water would still be ice cold.

I absolutely love swimming in the sea. Obviously I cant really do it here, would turn into an icicle or something, but abroad.

When I was on holiday in tunisia...was out literally about a mile from the shore...and these horrid GIANT jellyfish all came from nowhere underneath me, I didnt know they were jellyfish at the time...all I could see were shadowy things, I actually thought I had a swarm of sharks or something there...so swam back thinking I was gunna be eaten or something, only to be firstly told off by the lifeguard for being so far out...and then told that they werent sharks but jellyfish :bored:

Makes me wonder why you've not told your family - and wait till you know there is a major jackpot rollover on the lottery and give them the numbers then. :joker:

Yea i know i got a house on the norfolk coast and we go like sailing and stuff its beautiful up there. still doesn't compare to like tropics but its lovely. Ive always wanted to go to cornwall and surf in the summer. Holkham beach in norfolk is amazing though. Childhood summers spent there memories :D

The english murky waters freak me out a bit i don't like not being able to see beneath me.

Ninastar 15-05-2011 11:30 AM

its my worst fear, I hate it. I don't mind the beach so much but if I can't go further out than waist deep.
