Golden Ticket advert on Channel 5!

They just advertised the golden ticket thing and Big Brother! Just hit me when they said Big Brother that it really is back and is back on the telly again!

Anyway. They had this music in the background I *think* it sounded like an updated element four. But I'm not sure. Don't quote me!

Haven't got a vid, not sure how to capture.

CharlieO 20-05-2011 05:15 PM

Ahh wish I could see. If anyone manages to get a vid could they please post?

georgehudson 20-05-2011 05:18 PM

I watch C5 daily so I'm going to see it!!! :D

georgehudson 20-05-2011 05:19 PM

No doubt they will have it on OK!TV anyway :)

I assume this was a Daily Star or OKTV ad rather than an official C5 trail as that would probably break ofcom rules.

What rules would that break?

A channel advertising it's owner's other companies. Pretty sure there was talk of him not being allowed to have C5 promote his other stuff.

The theme tune sounds like an updated version of the Elemen 4, very much changed though.. But from what I heard it sounds good :spin:

Definatly buying Saturday's.

The fact they are using big brother to advertise the daily star (with that annoying voice) i think shows us how cheesy this BB will be. Gives me no hope.

I agree with this.

I had a quick look inside the Daily Star at one of the articles, (not a regular reader myself...) and the fact they are advertising Big Brother with "scantily clad babes" was really dismaying.

It just seems like it could be a tacky, cheapened, low budget thing which would be pretty sad.

But i suppose you can't assume anything until it actually begins.

Edit: plus that "theme tune" also sounds v. cheap.

I highly doubt it. It sounds like generic production music. They're probably working out licensing issues with the BB theme.

Bear in mind that The Daily Star ran the same 'sexy red-hot summer' and 'scantily clad babe' articles when BB was on Channel 4. And there definitely won't be a sexy red-hot summer in an autumn/winter series ;)

Glenn. 21-05-2011 10:47 AM

Won't the budget be quite good? Isn't is £180m for just 2yrs? Or is the two years just a provisional deal, depending on ratings? There were reports that the deal was for 5yrs before C5 confirmed BBs return.

JohnnyBB 21-05-2011 10:58 AM

i must say im warming to that eye with the words channel5 big brother in!

Jords 21-05-2011 11:01 AM

Cool, they made BB look fun which should pull auditions :D

The Ticket is inside the TVMag
so make sure you have it all.

Stu 21-05-2011 12:05 PM

The whole vibe of that ad kinda makes me ... not very hopeful.

Captain.Remy 21-05-2011 12:10 PM

It's so cheap. I mean, first the Daily Star, then the "hot sexy babes" photos and now the adverts.

It's going to be a rip-off of The Only Way is Essex. Brainless, uninteresting blonde bimbos and hunks.

What do you want frog
a Old Granny or a Old man, instead of the Fit |lady.

I read the article in todays Daily Star.

Anyone else who reads it may notice the use of the word "wannabe".

Now, i thought this was what most people thought was a turn off previously. The "wannabe" aspect of it.

But then we are getting the conflicting reports of "normal" people and "back to basics"...

I for one would really like to know which direction they are actually taking!

Marc 21-05-2011 01:49 PM

Interesting...

AJ. 21-05-2011 02:07 PM

That tune is absolute crap! It sounds like a 10year olds mix of element 4 vs duck sauce.
