BBC to follow England at Women's World Cup
 

BBC Sport has announced plans to broadcast all England games at the FIFA Women's World Cup Finals next month in Germany, putting the spotlight on women's football.

Coverage of matches featuring tournament favourites England will be shown live on the BBC Sport website and BBC Red Button interactive service, starting on June 27 for the tie against Mexico. England play New Zealand and Japan in their other group games.

BBC Sport will follow England's progress through the tournament with more live coverage should the team pass through the group stage. The World Cup final will be shown live on BBC Three.

Gabby Logan will present the coverage, joined by ex-Arsenal and England defender Martin Keown and former England midfielder Jo Potter.

Nigel Adderley will provide reports from around Germany on the atmosphere of the tournament, while Guy Mowbray will be joined by former Leeds United Ladies striker Lucy Ward for commentary on the live matches.

A highlights programme featuring all England's matches will air on BBC Two at 11.20pm, as well as be offered on the BBC Red Button and BBC Sport Online.

BBC Radio 5 Live will also air "comprehensive" coverage of the Women's World Cup, including reports, previews, live updates, match reports and interviews.

If the women won the world cup before the men then there is something seriously wrong with the world

it's probably going to be germany or USA (Yes i said USA they've won it twice in womens and won the 2008 Bejing Olyimpics tournament)

women's football would be better if they played topless and at half time shared a mud bath in centre of the pitch :hugesmile:

then after the game they can wash their own kits and iron them too :elephant:

and if the game is a draw after extra time, instead of penalty shoot out, they can have a pillow fight in their underwear :hugesmile:

LOL been watching some of the games and they're not faking injuries like every guy does in every world cup.

The standard of football is awful though i have seen better in the welsh non league

England won 2-1 and i watch it live on the red button come on England 2-1 2-1 2-1 :hugesmile::hugesmile::hugesmile:

It's good the WWC is getting such good coverage. All of the USA games are being covered Live on ESPN here, which is really good. They didn't even cover the men's team at the Gold Cup last week, so it's nice to see ESPN not being sexist.

It's not really on much here and I doubt it's to do with sexism, there's just no interest in it here at all, probably due to how big the mens game is.

No doubt Germany will win this. No-one else stands a chance i'm afraid.
