Do you watch the news?

By 'watch' I mean actively make a point of watching at least one report a day. National, International or local

As we have both 'young' and 'old' on here it intrigues me as I can remember, as a kid, swearing I'd never ever watch the news as it was "boring" yet now I feel totally out of the loop if I don't see what's what

No poll - EXPLAIN :p

Shaun 27-05-2011 03:42 AM

I might watch the local news on TV but that's it - for international stuff I read the BBC website several times a day.

Chuck 27-05-2011 03:46 AM

No, but I read a newspaper everyday. :L
I just think it's easier and more practical to read newspapers or magazines because you just read what interest you, and watching the news, you're gonna sit there for an entire hour and I just cba hearing about middle east, economic crisis, terrorists etc.

Kerry 27-05-2011 03:51 AM

If something's 'breaking' I do admit to being hooked to live though it does depend what it is. Politics and what-not then no. Very rare

Callum 27-05-2011 03:56 AM

Yes, I have Sky News on a good majority of the time. If I'm not watching something, that's the channel I'll have on in the background. I normally watch the news at 6 and 10 too.

Kerry 27-05-2011 04:01 AM

I watch the local news at 6PM. Feet up time for me before soaps etc

joeysteele 27-05-2011 08:28 AM

Sky News only ,I like to know what's happening quickly, the BBC has really started to fall behind on that now.
The minute I want to catch up on the news, I always just turn to Sky News.

Crimson Dynamo 27-05-2011 09:53 AM

BBC news as the weather on sky is ****e

Jords 27-05-2011 09:54 AM

I watch 'breaking' news too (like Japan disaster, Raul Mouat..)

The everyday stuff and facts + figs. bore me.

Niall 27-05-2011 10:22 AM

I'll put on a news channel if there's nothing but ****e on the telly. 9 times out of 10 though I won't actually be watching it but putting it on for background noise instead.

Jordan. 27-05-2011 10:28 AM

Not watch but I do read the news online.

LaLaLand 27-05-2011 10:31 AM

I make sure to watch the national and regional news (and weather) once a day.

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 27-05-2011 11:50 AM

I used to but not anymore. Just too much misery now I can't take it.

CharlieO 27-05-2011 11:51 AM

I do when im in england but over here its complete rubbish as there is no news to report anyway so they have segments about cabs that have kareoke in.

Stu 27-05-2011 12:46 PM

I do but I still don't consider myself 'into' it. I don't care much for current affairs but still like to know what's going on.

bbfan1991 27-05-2011 12:52 PM

Yes but not all the time:).

Suze 27-05-2011 12:54 PM

I very rarely watch the news, as I am just not interested in all their news items or sports news, and I never buy newspapers, I just read news items online regularly, and pick and choose the most relevant news items and the ones I find most interest me also.

BigBrotherfan4ever 27-05-2011 12:57 PM

Watch ITV news at lunch time & in evening watch local & internal news on BBC, & if there's major story breaking ie politics or disasters watch Sky news.

Livia 27-05-2011 01:10 PM

I start off with the Breakfast news before I go to work, then I have Reuters live in the office all day. I have Parliament stuff playing live when there's something relevant being discussed, and when Prime Minister's Questions is on. If something's about to break that will mean my phone will ring, I am sometimes forewarned so we can be ready when the story goes on air. We also get all the newspapers every day that have to be scoured for relevant press cuttings. So really, once I get home, the last thing I want to watch is the News.

denvertdino 27-05-2011 02:39 PM

Read BBC news website everyday and watch on TV every now and then

Harry! 27-05-2011 06:39 PM

I sometimes have BBC News on in the background and watch it sometimes when I get home from school. I also watch BBC Breakfast in the mornings. I only watch Sky News for the Tomorrow's Paper previews.

Doogle 27-05-2011 06:42 PM

Yeah, I like to know what's happening.

But if I don't catch the main news I stick to 60 seconds on BBC3.
