Part One

It was a cold, cold night. The wind beat against Vicky’s face as she walked slowly through the barren landscape, reflecting on the shock that was Susan Boyle coming second in Britain’s Got Talent a few years ago. A tear slowly left her eye, single and solitarily as she realised she would never see that show again.

She was stranded in a mysterious realm. It all began in 2009 when she was sat watching The Angela Griffin Show on Sky1. She was just your normal, average woman. She loved daytime TV following the loss of her job on August 30th 2008 after she was sexually harassed by her boss, Shaun. She had recently split with her boyfriend, and Angela Griffin was all that kept her afternoons alive.

One afternoon, December 19th to be precise, she fancied some orange juice. She didn't normally like orange juice but on this afternoon she wanted some, and recalled a small, plastic bottle was placed in the back of her fridge. As the familiar adverts began playing on TV, she stood up. Her feet slowly touched the carpet, as her feet sunk into the rich fabric. She walked slowly into her Kitchen, when she heard a loud knocking on the door.

Knock. Knock. Knock. Knock.

Vicky swung around and ran to the door, which was adjacent to the kitchen. Her hand reached for the handle, her heart racing. (She didn't want to miss part 2 of The Angela Griffin Show). As she swung open the door she saw a cold, twisted face, and realised what was about to happen to her.

Vicky jumped back, knocking her ankle on her size 6 shoes, which were lying on the floor, which she had only recently purchased. (A buy-one-get-one-free at Shoe Zone). The old lady was Kerry, her mad next door neighbour. She often knocked at Vicky’s house, and asked to watch TV with her. Vicky didn't mind this, but a familiar sense of urine arrived every time her elderly neighbour did.

"May I come in, my dear?" Kerry slowly panted.

Vicky’s heart was racing - if she were to say no she would have to make and an excuse, chat, and miss the beginning part of The Angela Griffin Show. If she were to say yes her living room would be filled with the rich stench of Urine. Her mind raced, when her mouth blurted out a response.

"Come in, sweet. Go on through and take a seat".

Vicky felt uncomfortable, her palms were sweaty as she realised she had just seconds to be in for Part 2 of The Angela Griffin Show. Her mind was dazed, confused, mixed with thoughts as she realised she would now be accompanied by Kerry. She ran through to the kitchen, and placed her hand on the ice cold handle of the refrigerator.

She opened the door, heart racing. As her hand slowly reached for the orange juice a piercing screech filled the room. With a loud bang Vicky had vanished. And so had the refrigerator.
