Domino's - "Ginger kid"

This is crazy. It's not an insult to refer to someones hair colour as a description :conf:

Ross Wajgtknecht, 11, was at the takeaway in Midsomer Norton, Somerset, with two friends. All gave their full names when ordering. Wajgtknecht noticed the jibe when collecting his pizza and burst into tears.

"I was really sad," he told The Mirror. "I get bullied at school about my hair but you don't expect it from an adult. I couldn't stop thinking about it and brought the packet home because I wanted to show my mum."

His mum Evette said: "He is usually quite a strong and confident lad who doesn't let comments upset him but reading that has really knocked him.

"You would not describe someone by the colour of their skin or by calling them fat so why is it OK to call Ross ginger?" his dad added. "I think they picked on him because he is just a lad and they knew he wouldn't defend himself. It is prejudice."

Store manager Pat Bennet said: "It was for the benefit of the person who took the order. It wasn't meant to cause offence. I have apologised to the family over the phone and the member of staff concerned has written an apology to the boy. We will ensure nothing like this happens again."

Ross was also offered a free pizza to make up for the incident.

It's not racist to say "the black guy" when describing someone, so why should this be offensive? Kid should grow a pear (misspelling done on purpose because it's a Ke$ha song, before someone corrects it.)

When I worked for Dixons, the till system automatically asked for the customers surname when selling something, then they would receive crap through the mail offering them extended guarantees etc if they had refused at the time of sale.. one lady received her junk mail address to "mrs Fat Ugly Cow" :laugh: obviously the press had a field day with it and the member of staff was fired (wasn't in my store; I think it was down south somewhere)

I think it's sad that his own hair colour makes him cry when people mention it.

He looks like my brother did when he was a kid.
