Houghton who was Newcastle Utd manager but mid table wasn't good enough for the Newcastle board but its where they ended up anyway despite all the changes.

Actually, he wasn't doing a bad job at Newcastle, the unmanageable team that they are,so if he was to go to Birmingham,he could do well, he brought Newcastle straight up from the Championship when they went down.

Exactly but the manager I want to come to Blues the most is Alan Curbishley but sadly he will never come.:(

Well in fact jf, Chris Houghton did good at Newcastle really, as I said he brought them straight up from the Championship and although he said survival in the Premiership was his main goal last season, he was doing rather better, they were mid table, well their best is usually that anyway, then he got sacked.

He will have something to prove to Newcastle that he can do it again so he may be a good choice for Birmingham, he also seems to have a way of winning the trust and respect of players too.I think he may just be a good choice if he's in the running for it.

Come on it aint all bad, except your rivals are getting a manager that plays 4-4-2 at home.:joker:

In all seriousness I think Mcleish will have a point to prove at Villa, you shouldnt worry just yet.

seanraff07 18-06-2011 08:22 PM

Hughton will do a fantastic job at Birmingham and will take them straight back up.

Only reason he got sacked at Newcastle is cause Mike Ashley is a fat cockney wanker!

Whoa somebody hates Mike Ashley there.:joker:

I think Chris Houghton is a good manager, but I cant see him getting us up this year when his got players like Mutch,Gomis and Burke at his disposal, also all our best players are leaving.:bawling:

I sure do, he has denied us from making consistent progress for years now!

True, he may need some financial backing to do so as you don't have the strongest of squads. But he is capable of getting yous up if him and the owners can work together.

I said i'd back Mcleish in the other thread, I had two days of devastation but I got over it just like getting over an ex.

Didn't give a **** about his Birmingham allegiances, it's not like he's a Birmingham fan..just don't want him to play **** football but with the players we have/the money we will spend hopefully it isn't dross

Stupid decision to make though business wise attendances will be way down

Board has shot themselves in the foot with this one and if he doesn't deliver the backlash will be even worse. Now Villa need to work on transfer targets quick:).

Shall change the title really:joker:.

Haha, paper reporting that the Villa ticket office ran out of money the amount of people returning their season tickets. Good job Villa.

He did it with Newcastle jf, with little new blood there, he has a track record of bringing a team straight back up,if the club back him, he could also get help from other clubs as to players loaned whatever.
He is respected in the Premier league for his work at Newcastle, the only person who didn't appreciate him was the Newcastle curse, their owner Ashley,he is apparantly hated on Tyneside I believe.

Hughton, could do it for Birmingham jf, I really think he could.

Should of never been sacked at Newcastle. Much better than Pardew.

I agree, Newcastle is a club that seems to want to have a new Manager every season. The way Managers are treated there must demoralise the team or at least have a big negative effect.

Newcastle are even prepared to let one of their best players go as well,Joey Barton (okay he isn't madly popular with football fans) but he has been an inspirational workhorse for Newcastle last season, tireless in his efforts on the pitch and being a great all round team player.

His reward, likely that they let him go and not pursue a further contract for him, absolute madness so Newcastle deserve to find themselves in trouble next season and I think they will be.
