Should Giggs retire?
 

This coming season he is going to be jeered at every game.
His form will be affected too and I don't think he will make much of a contribution, so best to cut your losses and call it a day now.
He has been great player but the longer he plays on, the more people are going to only remember his off the field activities instead of playing football.
His advancing age and lack of concentration and form that is almost certain means he should retire on a high (19th league title) and avoid fans backlash next season.

I dont think so see how is form is up to New Years and then call for that if necessary.... we havent seen him play properly yet since all this broke except for the final IIRC.

No **** the haters, hell Georgie Best still managed to play when he had his party lifestyle and Terry even though he's younger played during the whole shagging his team mates missus business.

No, he should go on another season and try and remind everyone why he is the player he is. He needs to try and go out on a high, the last thing he wants to do now is retire as he'd probably be branded a quitter.

I'm not bothered - when the heat dies down, he will resume his "career" and, presumably, move into management, where only results count - if he can't deliver there, he'll be "retired" soon enough .....

Even if he quit now he would still strangely have the high note in being the most decorated footballer in England in terms of trophies and having the Man Utd appearance record:).

That ain't gonna happen, he can take the stick from the terraces because everyone in footie is fickle:D.

Yeah obviously he will be remembered for the great footballer he was/is.

But surely he'll be wanting to end on a high note instead of all the controversy that has been going on the last couple of months, people would also remember him for his mistakes in life if he were to quit now. But hopefully he can take people's minds off that in the next year by doing the business on the pitch.

No,if he had no plans to stop playing then he should continue,he'll get some jeers from the crowds but footballers are near immune to that,they have to be.

As far as his football skill goes, he just let his feet do the talking and do what he always does, play a strong, committed and brilliant game, near every game, for Utd.

Everyone has their opinion of the controversy but at the end of the day what we feel is nothing to do with it because it's to do with his family but still there's another month to sort it out;).

Yeah. When your looking at a footballing aspect only though I think he'd definitely be worthwhile staying on another year as he can still crack it at that level.

Jeez, he's bloody well good at his job. Other famous people than Giggs have been forgiven for affairs and it's consigned to history..

You don't get sacked from your every day job if you have an affair with your wife, it isn't linked to your job therefore shouldn't affect whether your sacked or not.

Giggs should retire because the fans that will go to the games are gonna call him cheating scumbag and child killer if he stays in football.

Alright it might have been an OTT reaction,but I would still class his reasons for it as a really bad thing that if I was him I would want a year away from the limelight.

He's got a job to get on with and paid to do. He'll have to return to work when the employer states so if he doesn't ask for more time off of course;).

Well no not really,but Because I wouldnt be in the limelight like Giggs I would at least take a year out,if not considering retiring eventrully.
