Do you think EastEnders has improved or declined since this time last year?

I'd say it's declined.

:)

seanraff07 26-06-2011 04:42 PM

Declined.

The last year has been pretty dire to be honest :bored:

Smithy 26-06-2011 04:42 PM

declined

Which is why it's so bad at the moment. :)

Jords 26-06-2011 04:49 PM

Stayed the same.

Yeah.

Isn't there a new producer now though? So hopefully it will improve now

Mac Hiavellian 26-06-2011 04:58 PM

I think it's got better recently but it's still not a patch on 1999-2002 or 2007. I don't understand why Kirkwood's brought in all these new characters that are leaving. Some of them have potential

Barbie 26-06-2011 05:38 PM

Declined massively, i wouldn't be as sure on eastenders winning best soap against corrie at the next awards.

Redway 26-06-2011 06:38 PM

EastEnders:

The 2000s.

2000 - a good year.
2001 - an absolutely epic year. At its very peak.
2002 - quite a good year, but down on the heights of 2001.
2003 - a bit weak, to be honest.
2004 - atrocious. Just awful.
2005 - a very strong year for EE, I would say.
2006 - no comment. The latter half was a bit better than the first, but still poor.
2007 - amazing year. Just brilliant. January - April was quite poor, though.
2008 - very disappointing.
2009 - pretty decent year; although the second half was much better.
2010 - the first two months were brilliant.. March - June was dire, and then it started to pick up in July, then went into heavy decline by the time Kat and Alfie had returned.

2011 - awful. Seems a tad better at the moment, but that will all change next week, seeing as the main characters are:
Spoiler:

Kat, Alfie, Jack, Michael and Roxy.

I wouldn't be so sure on that. EastEnders seems to always beat Coronation Street: that, clearly, is no representation of the quality. Corrie is poor atm, but EE is just...no comment.

Patrick 26-06-2011 06:52 PM

Declined.

It's all about the Masoods once again, boring as ******.
Honestly.

It hasn't been that good since about March 2010 - but the whole show has revolved about the ******ing Muslims, it's not even EastEnders anymore, it's like some Indian Soap Opera, It's just hard to watch.

When you see a British person in it now it's like :amazed:!

Blow up the Masood house and bring back Johnny Allen from the dead - and we can put all the months of boredom behind us!

It might get better though since Kirkwood is being told to ******ing do one.

Of course it will - sh*te or not, it still has a bigger more current fan base.

BringItOn 26-06-2011 06:58 PM

Declined and so as Corrie, don't bother with them anymore.

Correct me if I'm wrong though but wasn't 2003 the beginning of the whole 'Gangster' era for the show?

That lasted up to 2006 when it climaxed with the almighty 'Get Johnny Week!' which I remember loving.

2008 [which you also said was crap] wasn't too bad either, with Mad May returning and dieing, and of course Jase's death which remains the most upsetting to watch in the history of the show.

I just find it alot better to watch Phil and Grant in their glory days - Johnny Allen, Jack Dalton, Dennis Rickman, Jake and Danny Moon at war constantly whilst Ruby Allen is in every episode  than to watch fat Zainab complain about how the square will hate her, or watching Tamwar try to string a sentence together or the dull Masood and Yusef fued that had potential to be amazing but failed.

Actually, they're from Pakistan not India and I think it's a fair representation of a community in London. There are alot of Asians in Britain.

Yeah, that is true - but I and every other viewer would rather watch ourselves [well British people]'s lives on the show than Muslims.

And that's not me being racist, because I do like Zainab when she's funny - and I think Syed a legend because he reminds me of my uncle.

But at the end of the day, they're as dull as Susan Boyle's sex life and just because the country is being over run with foreigners, doesn't mean our biggest soap needs to revolve around them.

-Would make a witty comment about how 'you can take over our KFC' but you'll not have Albert SQ but decides it's best not to at all.-

I think it's declined, I only watch bits of it now.It will improve again though,I'm sure.

Doogle 26-06-2011 08:08 PM

Declined.

I stopped watching properly when Amira left.

The storyline with the chavs last year was amazing :amazed:

I still enjoyed Eastenders the most when Sonya and Martin were there though. When Sonya slept with Naomi and all that

InOne 26-06-2011 08:47 PM

It was best when Phil and Grant were at the top of their game

Patrick 26-06-2011 08:57 PM

Agree InOne.

Meh - Sonia and Niomi, yes they were dull.

The only lesbian storyline the show has and it's with two fat ugly birds.
I bet the next will be with Carole and Shirely or something.

They need Lauren and Whitney to turn lesbian, and make a sex tape - and only members of the BBC website can view it uncensored.
That will beat Corrie.

Those two are well fit, would well shag them, and
Spoiler:

Lauren has an affair with Ryan this summer.

Yes, EastEnders gets better and better by the day.

Patrick 26-06-2011 09:08 PM

Which Lauren do you like better?

Maddie Duncan [who I've met, and use to have her number - I should of banged her even if she wouldn't of let me] or the new one?

The new one has a nice arse.
