Sandy's no longer Cumming

BIG BROTHER’S SANDY CUMMING has changed his name at work so he doesn’t get bothered by customers.

Sandy escaped the house by climbing over the roof because he says he didn’t want to become famous.

Now he has returned to his job as a personal shopper at Selfridges.

He says: “I’m fine and just want to get on with my job. I now work under a different name.

“I am now known as Sandy Alexander and very few people realise I’m Sandy from BB, which is cool.”

He also defended his decision not to join the other contestants at last week’s grand final.

He says: “Everybody said I escaped and I’d rather that’s how people remember me. To go back on the final night would have seemed silly.”

Nice try, Sandy ............. but I don't think people will forget about you THAT easily!

BIG Brother's Scots escapee Sandy Cumming says his former pals are `grotesque'.

The former soldier refused to turn up for last Friday's final when Kate Lawler walked away with £70,000.

He's back working as a personal shopper but was out and about at the Soho Short Film Festival in London.

In his first interview since escaping over the roof on Day 20, he said: "If you look at what they're cashing in to do they are a bit grotesque. It is all so clear now why they got into the show in the first place.

"I am not going to cash in on my two weeks of celebrity. Integrity is more important to me than a few pounds in the bank. But as for the fame, you can keep it. I am very low down in the alphabet. I think I'll be known for only for the next couple of weeks. It's 14 days and counting."

Sandy also defended his decision not to go to the Big Brother final.

Still, it could have been worse ........... he could have changed his name to Sandy Beach. (ouch, sorry! :blush: )

Ok, now I know that Mr Sandy Cumming - employee of Selfridges in London is now called Mr Sandy Alexander - employee of Selfridges in London!

I also know that Mr Cumming/Alexander is not interested in fame or fortune because he has just sold his story to a tabloid newspaper saying just that!

To be honest, I'd almost forgotten about Sandy's surname or place of work, but now I remember again, thanks Sandy!!!!!!!

Poor sad, delusional Sandy. He seems to be getting a lot of mileage out of his Greta Garboish 'I want to be alone' stance.

If he truly wanted to be left alone he should have:

a) walked out of the back door, not done his acrobatic Great Escape climb over the roof. He did that because he KNEW it would get column inches in the national press.

b) not made any comments to the media - under any circumstances. He must know - he's an intelligent man - that continually feeding the press with quotes is just perpetuating the story.

c) perhaps not have gone into such a high profile environment, with all the attendant publicity, if he thought he could just fade away when his time was over.

I think Sandy is secretly revelling in the stance he has taken - he can say he's not courting publicity, whilst at the same time knowing he's going to be in the papers. Cool tactics on his part methinks!!

Not interested my foot! He didn't have to change his name, for he'd be very recognisable with those awful specs he wears, which don't suit his face, unless he bought those specs for the show and wears a different pair at work. He was also very disrespectful re that kilt he wore in the house..... who cares about him really. I'm surprised that Selfridges took him back...had that store belonged to me, I wouldn't had anything to do with him.....he may be good at his job, but he didn't show Selfridges in a good light really...also he had to have told them he wouldn't be working there for 64 days and can't see any store allowing their workers time off without some explanation of why they wanted this time.....has the Press said anything re this do you think?

I thought Sandy was quite nice.

He was always the first up in the morning. He must be very hardy for a towny. He was certainly brighter than the average and not a bad figure for an old 'un. :flower:

He wanted to changehis name so he wasn't recognisable, and his name change has been broadcast in the Sun.

I think everyone's too harsh to Sandy, I quite liked him, and in fairness, I don't think he jumped over the wall to be guaranteed column inches, thats not what he's about. I think he jumped because he didn't want to be rememebered as someone who shuffled out of the back door, his tail between his legs (especially not the second shuffler) - it's not in his nature to quitthat easily - didn't he say he'd never quit anything in his life??

I just think he saw a fairly cool way to leave, and took it.

As for the comments, is it not possible thatthe press gathered themselves round his door, shouting questions at him till he answered a few sentences?

I just find it unbelievable that Sandy would walk into the Sun offfice and tell them all about his work.

Last of all : the final - he said he only wanted to see Adele and Alex again, so why be hypocritical and go along, saying "Oh, well done" and hugging people? The crowds and bright lights aren't his thing, he'd probably just look (and feel) out of place.

I was referring to the clip Kate was shown of Sandy 'weeing' in the bin the night before he left the house. You MUST have seen it! :shocked: :shocked: :shocked:
