Should Corrie start using an extended theme for exits (à la Julia's theme)

Back when Karen left they did a specially extended theme, but that's the only time they used it, should it be used more often?

Yeah definitely, it signifies some sort of end to an era.

Don't think it really matters. The Corrie theme tune isn't as interrupting as duff duff's :p

Yes, I would like to see some kind of applause/recognition when a character leaves the cobbles

Julia's Theme isn't really an exit theme though, they use it when there's no dramatic cliffhanger for the duff duff.

Julia's Theme is normally used for characters in EastEnders who are considered icons but they've started handing them out left right and centre to plot devices like Amira last year:sleep:.

I think the Julia's Theme there represented the end of Syed and Christian's secret and the baby secret Amira left with (signalling she might have appeared to have lost everything, but not the baby, which will obviously cause a future dilemma) - rather than just for Amira herself..

Baren Karen

I like the dramatic music Hollyoaks have used e.g. Clare driving Katy off the cliff and after when everyone thought she died, Niall jumping off the cliff, Church blowing up and Tina dying, Clare's airport exit and Sarah skydive etc.

;)

Scarlett. 10-07-2011 04:34 PM

True that Julia's theme isnt an exit theme, but it's commonly used as one :p

flamingGalah! 10-07-2011 05:47 PM

No. And that in the clip was just the old theme that was always used in Coronation Street, not a special extended version...

They need more CGI trams though...

They should, in my opinion. It would've worked so well with the likes of Hilda and, most recently, Clare.
