After seven years of marriage, it's over for Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony.

"We have decided to end our marriage," they tell PEOPLE exclusively in a joint statement. "This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters."

"It is a painful time for all involved," the statement continues, "and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time."

Lopez, 41, and Anthony, 42, wed in June 2004 in a casual – and secret – ceremony at Lopez's Beverly Hills home.

They have two children, 3-year-old twins Max and Emme.

Wonder if it's just coincidence that her career gets back on track when she decided to ditch him

CharlieO 15-07-2011 09:45 PM

Didn't they just sing together on AI??
But :o

Smithy 15-07-2011 09:45 PM

Marc 15-07-2011 09:49 PM

Wut

Jords 15-07-2011 09:50 PM

She seemed happy on Alan Carr the other week :suspect:

Beastie 15-07-2011 09:50 PM

J Lo will be getting a lot of cock offers. She wants to be a single milf and shag the night away to lots of different men!

TBH... I always thought they were a mismatch.

No surprise I'm afraid.

celebrities annoy me. It's like as soon as the marriage stops being bliss, they call it quits. You have to WORK at a marriage. Successful marriage is not going to be handed to you like everything you get with all the yes people around you.

Callum 16-07-2011 12:10 AM

Surprised at this, I wonder if one of them had an affair.

Niamh. 16-07-2011 10:05 AM

I ****ing hate celebrity marriages, why do they even bother? :bored:

I was surprised to read this today but I somehow didn't think they seemed right together, don't know why.

Same brain stuff again joey.. !!

Seven years into the marriage, the old '7year itch' ..... the atypical point where it's make or break time.

Z 16-07-2011 11:39 AM

What part of seven years of marriage isn't "trying to make a marriage work"? I know no more about the situation than any of you do, but seven years is a long time? Quite a lot of marriages end in divorce after 7 years, there's statistical data on it, it's not just an urban myth.

:o

Christ almighty...can I get my nose back !! can any of us get our noses back.

I'm perfectly entitled to put up own opinion Zee as is everyone else. The 7 year itch is not an urban myth but it doesn't mean it's a long time.

I totally agree. Before I married, I'd been with my 'husband to be' for eight years before we decided to tie the knot.

It is for her.

I think becoming a huge household name again through AI has given her a whole new outlook. You could see from their clips together on the show that it wasn't going to last.
