Coronation Street bosses have released the first pictures of the sexy model who will become Rosie Webster's arch-rival in a forthcoming storyline.

Former Hollyoaks Later actress Candy McCulloch has been cast as blonde bombshell Stacey, who battles Rosie for top modelling jobs later this year.

As revealed last week, Rosie is to take centre stage in a new online Coronation Street spinoff, which focuses on her ambition to make it big in the modelling industry.

Stacey is on the books of the same modelling agency as Rosie, but when they both appear on ITV1's daytime show Lorraine, she quickly shows her ruthless side by stealing a lucrative job from under Rosie's nose.

A furious Rosie then shows her own feisty nature, resulting in a catfight live on air on Lorraine.

As well as scrapping with Rosie on the online Coronation Street drama, Stacey will also make an appearance on the main soap.

Speaking of the drama in store, Helen Flanagan - who plays Rosie - commented: "It is fantastic being back at work and filming the exclusive Rosie spinoff. Candy is fun to work with and it is great for Rosie to have a rival. I think she may have met her match in Stacey - they are both as ruthless as each other."

Coronation Street's three-part Rosie spinoff will also see her become an internet sensation, appear on Loose Women, launch her own website and be interviewed by Johnny Vaughan and Lisa Snowdon on Capital Radio.

The online programme follows the success of previous Coronation Street internet projects Gary's Army Diaries and Ken and Deirdre's Bedtime Stories.

McCulloch made her soap debut last year by appearing as troubled Hollyoaks Later character Sami, who helped her gangster boyfriend Nathan to get his evil revenge against the Costello family.

I really don't like that hair on Rosie Webster, think this mini series might be funny though, clever of ITV to promote their own shows through it too.

It does make her look older, I doubt I will be following this spin off, I don't think these spin offs work anyway.

Very few can carry off such short hair.Halle Berry is the one that comes to mind, suits her so much. Rosie actress Helen is very pretty but that cut does nothing for her.She looks miles better with long hair.

The online ones have turned out good so far, because they don't have to pad them out with rubbish
