Kate Thornton 'favourite' to host?

http://www.christophercouture.co.uk/...ourite-to.html

Quote:

Back in April, ChristopherCouture.co.uk exclusively revealed that Kate Thornton was in the running to become the new host of Big Brother.

Well now our source has exclusively told us that she is now the favourite to take over from Davina McCall as 'Big Mother'.

Our source said:

"There have been quite a few presenters, both recognised and relatively unknown, that have been considered for the job as the new Big Brother host.
Emma Willis appeared to have got the job as she was the most experienced with presenting for Big Brother, but Kate Thornton was always right behind her. As Emma is now pregnant, bosses are wondering if the job is right for her. Many fans will remember that Davina hosted Big Brother twice while pregnant, but the situation was totally different - she already had the job and was already under a signed contract.
Kate had instant appeal, with being the former host of The X Factor and now a former anchor on Loose Women.
It hit the headlines recently that Kate had been "axed" as a Loose Women anchor, but they left by mutual decision. Kate loved working on Loose Women, but she knew that being the host of the new Big Brother was an opportunity she couldn't miss.
I think it's safe to say Kate is now firmly the favourite and at the top of the list."

I think Kate would be a fab BB host. What do you think?
Don't even know what to think about this.. All seems fairly logical..

Hm she could be quite good I guess.

Iceman 18-07-2011 03:44 PM

Seems spot on to me.

daniel-lewis-1985 18-07-2011 03:46 PM

Seems like a good idea.

Just dont know how much of a fan of the show she is?

She is a good presenter and would bring more credibility to the show i think.

Thats what i was thinking and hopefully she doesnt act out all the time like Davina did, I can see her taking quite a serious approach to it.

I can see this too. She did a good job on Loose Women, but wasn't too serrious. Also, it was a 'mutual decision' for her to leave LW, so perhaps she has been offered the BB job?

A month to go.

I'd be very surprised if there is still a 'list' for her to be on the top of. They will have made their choice by now.

Most people are looking forward to news this week. Most would hope this would include the name of the presenter. If they still have a list at this rate the presenter won't be signed up until the day before the show starts.

I would hate Carol Mcgiffin to host it, really sorry but I cannot bear the woman. I'd still watch it if she did.

As for Kate, she would make a good presenter but it's not really her thing in my opinion, then again she was good on X Factor.
I would still rather Emma and/or Brian though.

Kate Thornton:thumbs:

daniel-lewis-1985 18-07-2011 04:06 PM

It does seem a more glossy serious show with her and lets be honest having Brian and Emma present it does cheapen it slightly (even though i heart them).

She would do a great job :)

CharlieO 18-07-2011 04:16 PM

She seems alright. If the presenter hasn't been connected to BB before I think I would like someone who isn't known for reality show presenting. So I guess she ticks that box unless I'm mistaken.

Tony1111 18-07-2011 04:25 PM

I really like her! :D

craigie2405 18-07-2011 04:27 PM

Me too, if it is her, I would be well happy! I'm off the week it starts now that its the 18th so I'm well happy. A wee drink for launch night I think ;)

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 18-07-2011 04:30 PM

oh lord have mercy. The faces we see every week on tv are literally recycled onto every show on other channels. annoying! jeez man. And they expect us to still be as excited as a child receiving a new puppy when we see them again.
na mate i just saw her half an hour ago on viva..novelty gone mate

Andrew. 18-07-2011 04:38 PM

Nah, im really looking foward to it now, she would be ideal to be honest! honestly im really feeling this. i was all about emma, still am, but kate would be so good!

Zippy 18-07-2011 04:39 PM

I'd never even thought of her as an option but...not too bad. She would get very involved with the show and the personalities. Plus she's technically a very good presenter. Unlike Emma who still looks a bit shaky and uncertain to me.

I think this too, but she has already been host of the UK's biggest talent show, and main host on the UK's biggest lunchtime takshow.
So she should be ready for it, as she's addressed live crowds and interviewed famous celebrities and contestants. And as seen on Loose Women, she doesn't jump on the bandwagon when stating opinions, she voices her own vaid opinions on people/topics and isn't afraid to ask questions.

little.lilly 18-07-2011 04:54 PM

She's vile.

Vanbot 18-07-2011 04:54 PM

I can't say I'm overly fond of her, but she's a competent presenter and certainly wouldn't cheapen the brand (any further) like having an ex-housemate present would. She could end up being a really good choice if it happens.
