Steps to reunite (for a four-part TV series)

Made this thread so Shaun could post Steps videos

Steps are to reunite for a four-part documentary series on Sky Living later this year, it has been revealed.

The pop group, who disbanded in 2001, will get back together for the ITV Studios series, which will document what the five members have been up to and what may come next following the release of their Ultimate Collection.

The group, made up of Claire Richards, Lisa Scott-Lee, Ian 'H' Watkins, Lee Latchford-Evans and Faye Tozer, will discuss the reasons behind their split ten years ago, and will also plan a possible re-launch in a recording studio.

ITV Studios Creative Director Michael Kelpie said: "Steps came, they entertained and then went their separate ways. Their split was acrimonious, messy and played out on the front pages of the national newspapers.

"This documentary series reveals the truths behind the polished pop façade that led to the break-up of one of the most successful pop acts in the UK.

"Steps will face their demons as they try to rebuild both personal and working relationships. It will undoubtedly be explosive viewing."

Sky's Head of Factual Entertainment Mark Sammon added: "We'll document the in-fighting, jealousy and power struggles - it's not the sugar-coated Steps we all remember.

"I'm delighted this British pop phenomenon has given us access to their stories. And we can expect tears and dramatic confrontation as they attempt to put the past behind them and re-launch Steps ten years on from their split."

Steps sold more than 15 million records in their five-year career and scored 14 consecutive top five singles including 'One for Sorrow', 'Deeper Shade of Blue' and the platinum-selling 'Heartbeat/Tragedy'.

Claire Richards said that a Steps reunion would be a "silly" idea last month. The group had been rumoured to perform a one-off charity reunion concert earlier this year.

Steps are reforming. SCREEEEAM

It’s the news we’ve all been (secretly) waiting for. Actual Steps are reforming for a new four-part show for Living TV. WAHHHH.

Lee, Claire, Lisa, H and Faye will be reunited as the show documents the five members' current lives and follows them as they go back to the studio to consider a possible assault on the current pop charts. But this isn’t before they’ve talked through their “unresolved grievances from their days in the spotlight”.

So many questions, and we literally can not wait for the answers. What does Lee look like now? Will Faye bring the white dreadlocks? Is H still a bit annoying?

We’ve already got Tragedy on the office stereo. Literally. It's happening right now. WHOOP. We always knew they weren’t better best forgotten.

Are the birds still fit?

I think it could be a good and interesting series too.

I like Steps.

Only because they used to play Reach For The Stars at my school disco and, when you were 10, it was hilarious to run around the hall screaming 'Reach up my arse".

Oh.

Nah, I don't like Steps then.

Not really reforming just airing their dirty laundry in a fly-on-the-wall show.

King Gizzard 21-07-2011 11:25 PM

Please say you didn't all take this seriously

I had a mad crush on Claire when I was a kid but thats it

They've all aged like crazy now

Shaun 21-07-2011 11:56 PM

this is the third topic on this now :nono: Matt and someone else posted it

Zippy 22-07-2011 12:02 AM

Claire still looks good having seen a clip of that opera thing.

But that kind of pure pop is very short term and theyre a bit old for it now. Plus their sound was of its time.

King Gizzard 22-07-2011 02:49 AM

yes it's true, what they say

Marc 23-07-2011 11:57 AM

Steps

Z 23-07-2011 01:02 PM
