Has channel 5 let themselves down??
 

Channel 5 boasting its gonna be the 'best series ever' and their bringing "energy, optimism and vibrancy to the series.” so far with that logo it just looks cheap and seems not much effort has gone into it, already im missing the eatock templat but what do do think? LOVE or LOATH the new big brother eye....you decide! :spin:

No one expected much anyway, the only people who bigged C5 BB up was The Daily Star.

They were always over excited bastards anyway when it came to Big Brother only this time they HAVE to make it sound good.

as Glenn said in another thread, it's the housemates that make up the show, not the logo

I have a feeling the eye flash will impress more people than the stills.

So far everything has been a let down except for Emma Willis.

In my opinion the graphics, theme tune and logo were the most important things. Made the show retain the little class it had.

Graphics 55-60 %
Housemates 40-45%

Simple answer. Yes, they had all the opportunity to make this amazing but they are changing the parts that don't need changing at all.
The eye fronts the show more so than the presenter and to be honest I could probably make a better one and others on this website already have.
Absolutely no effort was put in and it is an absolute travesty.

I hated the CBB7 eye, but I loved the series and the ads. It's not important.

Channel 5 did 'Back To Reality' and I really enjoyed that.

we wanted a new fresh big brother! so thats what we got given! the eatock template has been there for ten years, time for something new and modern (Y)

So far there's been nothing I haven't liked. C5 have done well so far.

I'd hardly call it modern though, in this day and age they should at least be able to get the shape of an eye right instead of using the symmetrical shape a child would use when drawing an eye.

To me it has no feeling, it's cold and meaningless. Where the other eye template resembled a real eye, it gave the feeling of being watched by someone, it could have been the eye of the viewer or big brother. It was also iconic, everyone, viewers and non-viewers knew it was the BB eye. This new 'eye' doesn't say to me 'this is BB' and it doesn't look fresh either, it just looks like a cheap, tacky microsoft paint job.

I know some people will say 'it's just an eye' and yes it is, but it's a bloody awful one. I don't mind them deviating from the Eatock template, I just wish they had actually kept it resembling a proper eye.

Not even seen the eye yet.
