Two Pints FINALLY axed
Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps has been axed after ten years.
The long-running comedy series, which starred Will Mellor, will not be renewed as the BBC makes way for fresh content, The Mirror reports. BBC Three Controller Zai Bennett said: "BBC Three is all about giving new writers a chance. It's now time to give that chance to others. I want to thank the production team for creating a warm, cheeky and popular comedy." The show's creator Susan Nickson joked: "I've had a fantastic time for the last 50 years, but wholeheartedly believe it's right for us all to move on. "The crew, the fans, the actors and writers have become like family over the life of the show, in that I see them once a year and ask [them] for money. I'm thankful we brought such happiness to a lot of people and a lot of enjoyable rage to many others." Nickson added: "I'm extremely grateful to the BBC for supporting the show and already have plans afoot for future ventures with the corporation." She is planning to write another series for the BBC, while Bennett is expected to announce new comedy commissions in the coming weeks. |

Yeah same. I've got all the Johnny episodes on DVD from ages ago, but it was terrible once he left

So we will never know what was wrong with donna. It really annoys the **** out of me when shows end without a proper ending.
All this does it put me right off watching any new bbc show just incase it don't end properly. Absolute disgusting display from the BBC. Even a 1 off special to end it right would have been better then this. What next torch wood another bbc show I like get axed on a cliffhanger. I would not put it past the bbc. Maybe the bbc should axe the very dire Eastenders if cash was an issue. |
Never watched it much anyway.

Didn't they have a "final" episode in 2009.
Then they insisted on reviving it with a new writer, without Janet and Louise and with a bunch of new characters and now axe it without a proper ending. What a stupid thing to do. I mean I've not watched it properly since Johnny was in it but it's a silly thing to do. |
The programme run out of steam.

Amazing news :amazed: let's just hope its god-awful spin-offs (Grownups, Coming of Age) don't come back either.
